Implementation of website for cognitive behavioural therapy using the development framework Symfony

Andersson, Peter January 2010 (has links)
<p>This report follows the process of developing a website for cognitive behavioural therapy using the web development framework Symfony. The purpose was to find out if it is appropriate to use Symfony to ease development and maintenance of a website for therapy. For this to be true the framework had to be able to help create a website that was secure, user-friendly and easy to maintain.</p><p>The website was developed using several features of the framework including database abstraction, automatic code generation and URL-rewriting. A plugin was used to enhance the security by adding a complete solution for user authentication. The website was tested by using built-in test functionality of the framework that could run test on functions or emulating a browser visiting the website.</p><p>During the development the framework was tested and evaluated. The worst drawback turned out to be Symfonys steep learning curve, its security solution that only worked if the website was installed correctly and its slow loading time. Except those faults the framework performed well and was easy to use ones the initial learning time was over.</p><p> </p>

Podpora testování ve vybraných PHP frameworcích / Testing in selected PHP Frameworks

Kouba, Daniel January 2009 (has links)
Objective of this document is to provide reader with briefly and cohesive overview about team cooperation, testing , agile software development practices and other modern techniques during web development process. Moreover this paper showing usage of these methodologies and recommendation how to implement it efficiently in some of modern web frameworks for rapid and easy web development (Zend Framework, CakePHP and Yii). In addition this handbook tries to explain how continual integration can be utilized on field of web development process. This work is divided into 2 main sections. The first one is about theoretical knowledge of cooperation, testing and web framework usage at web development process. In second "practical" section I will be concerned about application of this knowledge in practice. Practical section is also about creating of complete continual integration process for web development and its implementation in academic environment of University of Economics in Prague. Contribution of this sheet is mainly in providing of cohesive overview on modern web development techniques such as extreme programming, testing, cooperation and object-oriented frameworks for rapid web development.

PHP Framework Performance for Web Development / PHP Ramverk Prestanda för Webbutveckling

Nylén, Håkan January 2012 (has links)
[Context] PHP Frameworks, such as CakePHP and Codei- gniter, have become popular among developers, since they offer ease of development save time and provide already made libraries to use. Considering that more and more websites are built using these frameworks it is important to know how they impact the performance of the website. Comparing the two top frameworks with each other can shed some light on what the performance looks like today on the web with PHP as its base. [Problem] Visitors nowadays have less patience to wait for a website to load. Meanwhile, PHP Framework has become known among developers, but the part of the performance that reduces the load time even more so visitors can surf without any problems, is missing. Therefore, it is a good idea to try to discover how the performance of the PHP Framework can change and improve the visitor experience. [Con- tribution] In this paper is a description of one of the first performance experiments on PHP Frameworks. It can help people make the right de- cision regarding PHP Framework in the future. The lack of data in this area is also one of the decisions to make this paper as well.
