Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The creation of the PRONAF was a milestone in public policy for rural credit for the financing of family farming, and the reference point of family farming as a social and political actor in the scenario of rural development in Brazil. Recently it was created another long-term credit line to finance investments in the properties of small farmers, the PRONAF More Food, aiming the increasing agricultural productivity. This work aims at analyze the importance, the context and effects caused by the resources made available by PRONAF More Food on the farmers from the City of Teutônia/RS. To fulfill the objectives, the present study was performed by an exploratory survey, whose primary objective was to obtain an overview of the Program More Food. Thus, to develop the work, was carried out a survey of data (quantitative survey), through a questionnaire applied to 51 rural properties in the city of Teutônia. Was also conducted interviews with the technical intermediaries (Emater and Financial Institutions) and political (STR). The analyses of the collected data were done by quantitative methods, as the description of the sample through the distribution of frequencies, and qualitative, through interpretive analysis the speeches. Based on data and analysis, it is possible to verify that the family farmers have the possibility to use the financing of rural credit to enable the access to new technologies and improve production capabilities, modernize the infrastructure in order to increase the productivity and, thus, increasing competitiveness, enhancing the conditions for market access. The farmers rationality is connected with the reality in which they find themselves, in order to preserve the necessary conditions that guarantee the social and material reproduction of the family units of production. The resources offered by Pronaf More Food provided increased of the well-being of the families surveyed, and cause changes in the production systems, particularly by increasing labor productivity. Thus, it is suggested that the work helps to identify some relevant features of a recent credit policy, which still little known and explored. / A criação do PRONAF foi um marco na política pública de crédito rural para o financiamento da agricultura familiar, e ponto referencial do agricultor familiar como sujeito social e político no cenário do desenvolvimento rural brasileiro. Recentemente foi criada mais uma linha de crédito de longo prazo destinada a financiar investimentos dos agricultores familiares, o PRONAF Mais Alimentos, objetivando o incremento da produtividade agrícola. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo geral analisar e compreender a importância, o contexto e os efeitos acarretados pelos recursos disponibilizados pelo PRONAF Mais Alimentos sobre os agricultores familiares do município de Teutônia/RS. Para atingir os objetivos estipulados, o presente estudo foi realizado por meio de uma pesquisa exploratória, cujo objetivo primordial foi obter uma visão geral do Programa Mais Alimentos. Assim, para o desenvolvimento do trabalho realizou-se um levantamento de dados (survey quantitativo), através de um questionário, aplicado em 51 propriedades rurais do município de Teutônia. Realizou-se também entrevistas com os mediadores técnicos (EMATER e instituições financeiras) e políticos (Sindicato dos Trabalhadores Rurais - STR). As análises dos dados coletados se deram por métodos quantitativos, como a descrição da amostra através da distribuição de freqüências; e qualitativos, por meio da análise interpretativa das falas. Com base nos dados e análises, pode-se verificar que os agricultores familiares contam com a possibilidade de utilizar o financiamento de crédito rural para viabilizar o acesso às novas tecnologias e aperfeiçoar os recursos de produção, modernizar a infraestrutura produtiva visando o aumento da produtividade e, consequentemente, o aumento da competitividade, potencializando as condições de acesso ao mercado. A racionalidade dos agricultores familiares está conectada com a realidade na qual eles se encontram, visando a preservação das condições necessárias que garantem a reprodução social e material das unidades familiares de produção. Os recursos disponibilizados pelo PRONAF Mais Alimentos proporcionaram aumento do bem-estar das famílias entrevistadas, além de provocarem mudanças nos sistemas produtivos, aumentando principalmente a produtividade do trabalho. Deste modo, sugere-se que o trabalho contribui para apontar algumas características relevantes de uma política de crédito recente, ainda pouco conhecida e explorada.
