Villalba Rolón, Rut María Angélica 14 June 2018 (has links)
Tesis

Welfare changes in the Paraguayan Beef Supply Chain

Patino, Maria 23 September 2013 (has links)
The unprecedented beef export growth observed in Paraguay during recent years generated a new marketing environment in its livestock sector. While changes in beef marketed along the supply chain are well-known, no efforts have been undertaken to assess welfare changes of each economic agent of the Paraguayan Beef Supply Chain. Demand and supply systems are estimated for the fattening, slaughter and beef retail markets. A vertical multi-market approach accounting for the linkages among the three markets is used to measure welfare changes of all economic agents in the new marketing environment. The results suggest that consumers and slaughterhouses are worse off, feeder and calf producers are better off and overall society is better off.

The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Paraguay

Gray, Constance Georgia January 1975 (has links)
This thesis illustrates by the example of one Protestant religious group, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), how an American institution transported to Paraguay can achieve some measure of success in view of the fact that Paraguay is characterized by a strong executive government that maintains control over every interest group in the country. The thesis investigates how the Christian Church has managed to sustain itself for fifty years in Paraguay. The research attempts to ascertain whether 1) the Disciples of Christ entered the country mindful of the needs and social structure of Paraguay, 2) the Disciples of Christ provided any services to the country, 3) the Disciples of Christ approached the lower class or the upper class in Paraguay, 4) the Disciples of Christ benefited by representing the immense economic interests of the United States, and 5) the Disciples of Christ contributed to the process of secondary development in Paraguay.

Granda, Germán de 25 September 2017 (has links)

Visitors' center of the Ybycui Park of Paraguay

Fernandez Beraud, Leticia January 1991 (has links)
By law, parks are the only preservation areas in my home country, Paraguay. Still, these parks -including the Ybycui National Park- are facing environmental degradation (Sanjurjo, 1989). Misusage and overuse of these parks, due to lack of environmental awareness, greatly contribute to this situation. This creative project consists of the design of the Visitors' Center of the Ybycui National Park of Paraguay. Environmental education is one of the main issues addressed in this project. This Visitors' Center serves as a place to welcome visitors, to promote the park and its appropriate uses for environmental preservation purposes, and to increase environmental awareness in the country. The project will address issues of land analysis, architectural elements in the landscape (signage, fencing, seating furniture, etc.) within this national park setting, and major concentration in the Visitors' Center design. The functional program of the Visitors' Center will be oriented towards recreational and educational activities in both outdoor and indoor settings at the public and private levels. The master plan of the Ybycul National Park "Plan de Manejo y Desarrollo Conceptual del Parque Nacional Ybycui" (1975), will be my guide for the future development of the park. The Visitors' Center will be an important part of the park, for it will serve as the filter through which most of the visitors will pass. This entry will greatly influence their impression of and respect for the park. / Department of Architecture
