Having as theoretical base the pedagogy of presence, the aim of this study was to analyze the educational experience of high school in Reference School Odorico Melo - EREM in the municipality of Parnamirim, Pernambuco state. It is intended to verify the contribution of this pedagogy to reduce dropout and academic achievement of students. For both a theoretical review of comprehensive education, interdimensional and truancy was held, as well as analysis of legal documents on the subject. This is a qualitative investigation of the case study type as a means of analyzing the procedures adopted by the school for the stay and the success of students in various fields of knowledge. We used the interview with teachers and managers of that school as a data collection instrument. Data analysis indicated that the pedagogy of presence has contributed rather to favor the permanence and success of the student and the school in which the teaching process takes care to use pedagogical practices that value the individual in its various dimensions, is pleasant and has guaranteed the success of the students. With this research, it is expected to contribute to other educational institutions can evaluate their teaching practices and strategies that promote improvement in school performance, especially in relation to the permanence and school success. / A pedagogia da presença é utilizada nas Escolas de Referência em Ensino Médio - EREM, do estado de Pernambuco, como uma estratégia de gestão, para garantir a permanência e promover o sucesso escolar dos educandos. Tendo como base teórica a pedagogia da presença, o objetivo geral deste estudo foi analisar a experiência pedagógica da Escola de Referência em Ensino Médio Odorico Melo - EREM Odorico Melo, no município de Parnamirim, estado de Pernambuco. Pretende-se verificar a contribuição dessa pedagogia para a diminuição da evasão e para o êxito escolar dos educandos. Para tanto foi realizada uma revisão teórica sobre educação integral, interdimensional e evasão escolar, além de análise de documentos legais sobre a temática. Trata-se de uma investigação qualitativa do tipo estudo de caso como forma de analisar os procedimentos adotados pela escola para obter a permanência e o sucesso dos alunos nas diversas áreas do conhecimento. Utilizou-se a entrevista com professores e gestores da referida escola como instrumento de coleta de dados. A análise dos dados indicou que a pedagogia da presença tem contribuído sim, para favorecer a permanência e o sucesso do educando e que a escola em que o processo de ensino tem a preocupação de utilizar práticas pedagógicas que valorizam o indivíduo nas suas diversas dimensões, é prazerosa e tem garantido o êxito dos educandos. Com esta pesquisa, espera-se contribuir para que outras instituições de ensino possam avaliar suas práticas pedagógicas e estratégias que propiciam melhoria no desempenho escolar, principalmente em relação à permanência e ao sucesso escolar.
