Prospectado a partir de uma demanda social, o projeto analisa as dimensões simbólicas da Pedra de Xangô em seu mundo vivido e percebido, considerando-a uma manifestação do sagrado, uma realidade transcendente, um patrimônio mítico da cidade de Salvador. A presente pesquisa investiga a importância da Pedra de Xangô enquanto elemento cultural, aglutinador da teia de terreiros de Cajazeiras e adjacências. Para tanto, foi necessário: cartografar os espaços sagrados circunscritos à pedra; investigar a sua utilização nas festas públicas, dentro do calendário litúrgico dos terreiros e no cotidiano; investigar como as manifestações culturais e as mobilizações viabilizam, juntamente com as demais táticas de resistência, a preservação do monumento lítico. Constatou-se que a Pedra de Xangô é um centro de convergência de diversos rituais privados, semi-públicos e públicos de uma infinidade de terreiros que se comunicam e se conectam em redes. Concluiu-se, também, que a Pedra de Xangô é ao mesmo tempo lugar e linha na qual se tece a teia dos terreiros de candomblé do miolo da cidade do Salvador, tornando-se a encruzilhada religiosa, comunitária e política do povo-de-santo da cidade. / This dissertation - "Stone of Xangô: an Afro-Brazilian sacred place in the city of Salvador" - deals with the rock formation of 8m high and approximately 30m in diameter, located on Avenida Assis Valente - main street that connects Cajazeiras X, Fazenda Grande I, Fazenda Grande II, Boca da Mata and the Old Road from the Airport. Prospecting from a social demand, the project analyzes the symbolic dimensions of the Xangô Stone in its lived and perceived world, considering it a manifestation of the sacred, a transcendent reality, a mythical patrimony of the city of Salvador. The present research investigates the importance of the Stone of Xangô as cultural element, agglutinator of the web of terraces of Cajazeiras and adjacencies. To do so, it was necessary to: map the sacred spaces circumscribed to the stone; To investigate their use in public festivals, within the liturgical calendar of the terreiros and in the daily life; To investigate how cultural manifestations and mobilizations, together with other resistance tactics, enable the preservation of the lithic monument. It was found that the Stone of Xango is a center of convergence of several private, semi-public and public rituals of a multitude of terreiros that communicate and connect in networks. It was also concluded that the Stone of Xangô is at the same time a place and line in which the web of the candomblé terreiros of the city of Salvador is woven, becoming the religious, communitarian and political crossroads of the people-of- Saint of the city.
