O recorte temporal partiu do Neoclassicismo (século XVIII) para chegar ao século XX: período de maior transformação formal na representação da figura humana, marcada por obras cuja temática são fragmentos de corpos. Os objetivos da pesqusa são: estudar o tema da figura humana fragmentada nas obras de pintura dentro do recorte temporal proposto; identificar, comparar e discutir os aspectos estéticos e iconográficos dessas composições pictóricas e analisar as obras escolhidas como objetos de estudo: Tiradentes Esquartejedo (1893) de Pedro Américo (1843-1905) e Reflexos de Sonhos no Sonho de Outro Espelho (Estudo sobre o Tiradentes de Pedro Américo) (1998) de Adriana Varejão (1964). Os procedimentos metodológicos são: análise iconográfica e comparativa, dentro do referencial sócio-histórico. Os resultados apontaram que o tema da Figura Humana permanece sendo representado por meio da dualidade: figura inteira versus figura-fragmentada, pois representar o corpo em partes tem o mesmo significado e importancia quanto inteiro. Tiradentes esquartejado em Pedro Américo se realaciona com os elementos estéticos que definem uma composição como obra-pormenor e em Adriana Varejão como obra-fragmento. / This research has how the Fragment Human Figure theme and treats of representation on the body on fragments in the picture, utilizing as reference the Omar Calabrese's about the Fragment theory. The temporal cut parted of Neoclassicism (18th century) for to come in the 20th century: period of larger formal transformation in the human figure representation, marked by works whose thematic are body's fragments. Yhe objectives of research are: to study the theme of gragmented figure human in the works of picture whitin of temporal cut propossed; to identify, to compare and todiccuss the iconographies an esthetics aspects from that's pictures composition and to analyze the works choices Quarted Tiradentes (1893) of Pedro Américo (1843-1905) and Reflections of Dreams on a Dream of Another Mirror (Study after Pedro Américo's Tiradentes) (1998) of Adriana Varejão (1964). The methodology's proceedings are: comparative and iconographic analyses, wthin of historic-associate reference. The results have pointed for the theme of human figure stays being represents by means of duality: intact figure versus fragmented figure, for to represent the body in parts has the same significanceand importanc as intact.
