The present work has its theory based on the mathematic study coupled with the information technology and geo-technology. The methodology used was the Webquest named The shapes of the city of Santa Maria designed and implemented by the researcher. This methodology verifies the contribution of the remote sensing as a pedagogical resource in the teaching of mathematics, specifically on the plane and spatial geometry contents, proposed in the elementary school program. The pedagogical experiment was developed in the 4° and 8° grades of an elementary municipal school. To this study it was considered the particularities of an action research model following the parameters of a qualitative research. The data was collected through participant observation, individual interview with the students of the 4° grade, by a questionnaire with open questions directed to the 8° grade students and a documental analysis of the production of the students. The activities were considered innovative and interesting by the authors involved (teachers and students) drawing attention to the research and the realization of tasks, as well as, allowing the construction of the multidisciplinary knowledge in a pleasant way. / O presente trabalho tem como embasamento a educação matemática, conjugada às tecnologias de informação e às geotecnologias. Utilizou-se como metodologia a aplicação de uma WebQuest intitulada As formas da Cidade de Santa Maria/RS , elaborada e implementada pela pesquisadora para verificar a contribuição do sensoriamento remoto como recurso pedagógico no ensino da matemática, especificamente dos conteúdos de geometria plana e espacial, propostos no programa do ensino fundamental. Aborda uma experiência pedagógica dentro desta concepção desenvolvida com duas turmas, 4º e 8º anos do ensino fundamental da rede pública municipal. Tendo em vista o objetivo deste estudo optou-se por realizar uma pesquisa-ação. Com isso, foram consideradas as particularidades desta modalidade de investigação, seguindo os parâmetros de uma pesquisa qualitativa. A coleta de dados ocorreu através de observação participativa, entrevista individual semiestruturada com a professora regente da turma do 4º ano, questionário com perguntas abertas, direcionadas aos alunos do 8º ano e análise documental da produção dos alunos. A atividade foi considerada inovadora e interessante pelos atores envolvidos, quais sejam professores e alunos, atraindo a atenção para a pesquisa e a realização das tarefas, bem como possibilitando a construção de conhecimentos multidisciplinares de forma agradável e prazerosa.
