Hrušková, Magdaléna January 2015 (has links)
Title: The Effect of Postural Therapy Using Posturomed on Jump in Basketball. Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to assess what effect the state of postural stabilization has on the jump height in basketball, to capture the level of postural stabilization before and after the 6-week proprioceptive postural therapy on Posturomed and to find out whether the jump height in probands changes after this therapy. Methods: The thesis included 30 probands - basketball players. 15 probands were assigned to the experimental group and 15 other probands were assigned to the control group. All probands underwent both the initial and the final jump height measurement. Each proband had 3 attempts, out of which the highest performance was recorded. The probands of the experimental group participated in a 6-week postural therapy. The therapy was carried out according to the concept of postural therapy on Posturomed by dr. Rašev. The data was evaluated in program Microsoft Office Excel. For the calculation of the unpaired t-test, statistical program SPSS was used. Results: Measurements confirmed the positive effect of the therapy on Posturomed on the jump height. The experimental group achieved a statistically significant difference in the jump height against the control group. Keywords: Vertical jump, basketball,...

Berger, Daniel January 2015 (has links)
Title: The Effect of Kinesiotaping on Postural Stabilization in Patients after ACL Reconstruction Aim: The main aim of the thesis was to evaluate, whether postural stabilization of patients after ACL reconstruction followed by kinesiotaping of the knee joint will be improved or decreased. Also the difference in postural stability of operated and un-operated lower extremity was evaluated. Methods: The thesis included 10 subjects. Each of them was from 4 to 6 weeks after ACL reconstruction, BTB technique. All subjects regularly attended group exercise in CLPA s.r.o. Every subject completed five measurements of postural somatooscilography, before exercise with kinesiotape and without, after exercise completed with kinesiotape, and after five days before and after exercise without kinesiotape. The values were saved by Microswing 6.0 and analyzed by Posturomed Commander. Then the values were evaluated by Microsoft Office Excel and statistic procedures were done by XLSTAT. Results: The measurement confirmed an effect of kinesiotaping on improvement of postural stabilization. Immediately after the application of the tape five out of seven parameters were improved. Participating in the exercise unit revealed an improving trend of postural stabilization, in comparison with the results before exercise. There...

Aspects of Dynamic Balance Responses: Inter- and Intra-Day Reliability

Schmidt, Daniel, De Castro Germano, Andresa Mara, Milani, Thomas Lothar 13 November 2015 (has links) (PDF)
The Posturomed device is used as a scientific tool to quantify human dynamic balance ability due to unexpected perturbations, and as a training device. Consequently, the question arises whether such measurements are compromised by learning effects. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze inter- and intra-day reliability of dynamic balance responses using the Posturomed. Thirty healthy young subjects participated (24.3±3.2 years). The Posturomed was equipped with a triggering mechanism to enable unexpected, horizontal platform perturbations. A force platform was used to quantify Center of Pressure (COP) excursions for two time intervals: interval 1 (0–70 ms post perturbation) and interval 2 (71–260 ms post perturbation). Dynamic balance tests were performed in single leg stances in medio-lateral and anterior-posterior perturbation directions. Inter- and intra-day reliability were assessed descriptively using Bland-Altman plots and inferentially using tests for systematic error and intra-class-correlations. With regard to the mean COP excursions for every subject and all intervals, some cases revealed significant differences between measurement sessions, however, none were considered relevant. Furthermore, intra class correlation coefficients reflected high magnitudes, which leads to the assumption of good relative reliability. However, analyzing inter- and intra-day reliability using Bland-Altman plots revealed one exception: intra-day comparisons for the anterior-posterior direction in interval 2, which points towards possible learning effects. In summary, results reflected good overall reliability with the exception of certain intra-day comparisons in the anterior-posterior perturbation direction, which could indicate learning effects in those particular conditions.

Sahánková, Ivana January 2014 (has links)
Title: Ankle joint hypermobility in relation to the postural stability evaluated by the postural somatooscillography method Objectives: The aim of this dissertation is to assess the influence of the local joint hypermobility on the postural stabilization measured by postural somatooscilography. It also compares the postural stabilization ability in case of local ankle joint hypermobility to the constitutional hypermobility on the lower limb including acre. Methods: This thesis has been composed by means of descriptive-associative method using the quantitative research comparing two groups of twelve subjects. The research part was evaluated under standard conditions using the monopedal postural provocation test "3 steps - standing on one leg" which was measured on the instable platform "Posturomed". The test results were logged in application Microswing 6. The recorded data was exported and evaluated by "Posturomed Commander" software. Results: The research has not proved a significant statistical difference between the group with local ankle joint hypermobility and constitutional hypermobility. However, the group with local ankle joint hypermobility was found to have slightly worse results, primarily in the ability of long-term stabilization. Vliv posturální terapie na stabilizaci kolenního kloubu po plastice předního zkříženého vazu s využitím kineziotapingu. / The Effect of Taping on Postural Stability in Patients with Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction on Posturomed Platform after Rehabilitation using Postural Therapy

Indrová, Zuzana January 2012 (has links)
Title: The Effect of Taping on Postural Stability in Patients with Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction on Posturomed Platform after Rehabilitation using Postural Therapy Aim: Objective evaluation of the effects of kinesiotaping and functional taping on postural stabilization during standing on one foot in patients after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction on the defined unstable Posturomed platform. Methods: The thesis is based on analytical-comparative study. The subjects of the study were patients after ACL reconstruction, who have done fifteen rehabilitation sessions which included postural therapy. The patients were subjected to a "3-step stand on one foot" test to standardize measurement. Three kinds of measurement were applied: without taping, kinesiotaping, and rigid-functional taping taped bilaterally above the m. vastus medialis. Results: The measurements on the Posturomed suggest that the ability of postural stabilization differs on each lower limb in patients after an ACL reconstruction. The application of taping had an effect in the majority of cases, although it was a negative effect on postural stabilization in most kinesiotaped measurements compared to un-taped measurements. The functional taping, on the other hand, had mostly positive reactions unlike with the...

Brožková, Martina January 2015 (has links)
Title: Effect of training on the slackline on postural stabilization Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine whether training on the slackline affects postural stabilization of sample of sport aktive population. The aim was to detect changes in postural stabilization immediately after the first training (30 minutes) on the slackline and after long-term training on the slackline. Another aim was to determine to what extent influenced measurement on Posturomed itself postural stabilization (with help of control probands, who did not train on the slackline between measurements). Methods: The study was attended by two groups of probands with a total amount of n= 16, who are healthy, active sports, sample population in the age od 21-26 (8 men, 8 women equally represented in groups). Probands of training group attended during one month eight sessions on the standard slackline- 2.5 cm wide, 11 m long, stretched at a height of 80 cm. Probands of control group didn't train on the slackline, only underwent measurements of the same intervals. Everyone participated in the 3 measurements (always 3 attempts) at the beggining of the research, immediately after completing the first training session (control group after 1 hour), and after completion of the research (control group after 1 month), always...
