Design and Testing of a Hyperbaric Horizontal Belt Filter for Fine Coal Dewatering

Salomon, Jeffrey A. 23 October 2007 (has links)
This objective of this project was to develop a new dewatering device that could produce a lower moisture content and better fine particle recovery than current technology. To meet this goal, a hyperbaric horizontal belt filter was designed and constructed over the course of 18 months. Once built, the filter was then thoroughly tested to determine operational capabilities. The test data showed that the lowest moisture content that could be achieved with a coarse feed (minus 1 mm screen-bowl centrifuge feed) was 8.8%. This value could be further reduced to 8.2% and capacity increased with the use of dewatering aids. When testing with a fine feed (minus 0.15 mm column product feed), the lowest moisture content was 35% without chemicals and 29% with chemicals. A 50/50 mixture by volume of coarse and fine feeds was artificially created and provided a moisture of 10.8%, which was reduced using reagents to 8.4%. The machine provided a very high recovery rate for all feed materials. Of the coal input, no less than 94% of it reported to the dry product. The pressure used to dewater the coal was the controlling factor for the air consumption of the unit. The data from these tests suggest that a full size production unit is feasible, although the power requirements for gas compression would be high. / Master of Science

Návrh výroby pouzdra tlakového filtru / Production of pressure filter casing

Janoušek, Jiří January 2021 (has links)
The project presents a proposal for the technology of production of the pressure filter casing used in hydraulic systems, which is made of non-alloy carbon steel 12 020. With the help of a literature study of cold extrusion and calculations, the production of the component was designed, which will take place in two operations. Before each operation, the surface treatment is performed by phosphating and soaping and inter-operational annealing must take place. Tool sets were designed for both operations and a press was selected from the company's machine park with a nominal force of 25,000 kN. Finally, a technical and economic evaluation was proved, which shows that the price of production of one piece is CZK 187. The turning point was set at 3 497 pieces per year.

Studie úpravny vody z povrchového zdroje / Study of water treatment plant from surface source

Inwald, Petr January 2021 (has links)
The first part of the thesis deals with water sources and methods of drinkable water treatment. This section describes the technologies used for two-stage water treatment from a surface source. The second part deals with study of the new drinking water treatment plant from a surface source for Adamov town. The work documents the current state of the existing water treatment plant and describes used technology with a design flow Q = 30 l s-1. In the next part of thesis is design of two variations of new technological line with a design flow Q = 10 l s-1. The first variation is one-stage water treatment with pressure filters as the main separation stage. Two-stage water treatment is designed for the second variation, in which the first stage of separation are clarifiers and the second stage are pressure filters. Thesis includes drawing documentation of designed pressure filters and clarifiers, technological and height scheme of both variations.
