Orientador: Arthur Magon Whitacker / Banca: Everaldo Santos Melazzo / Banca: Sandra Lencioni / Resumo: Essa pesquisa teve como objetivo realizar uma análise do processo de reestruturação urbana, enfatizando as mudaças geradas na centralidade urbana. Para isso, tomamos como recorte territorial o município de Itu - SP. Desse modo, buscamos compreender as transformações que se processam na área central do município de Itu e que podem ser observadas na relação entre as formas herdadas e as novas dinâmicas que lhe são impostas pelo desenvolvimento econômico, pela expansão de seu tecido urbano e pelo crescimento populacional. Essas novas dinâmicas modificam o centro, atribuindo-lhe novos conteúdos, identificáveis, entre outros, pela intensificação de seus fluxos, implicando em novas centralidades. Com isso, gera-se o descompasso entre formas e funções no centro histórico. Procuramos apreender essas transformações indentificando suas conseqüências no plano da morfologia urbana, por meio da criação de novas centralidades. Para o desenvolvimento dessa pesquisa, priorizamos o enfoque econômico, por meio de análise das empresas existentes em nossa área de estudo. Os dados evidenciaram aspectos do centro que permitiram um maior entendimento de sua dinâmica e estrutura, bem como o conteúdo informacional existente nas novas centralidades que se configuram. / Abstract: This research had the objective to achieve an analyze of the restructuring urban process, emphasizing the changes generated in the centrality urban. For this, we assumed as territories bound the Itu municipality - SP. This way, we tried to understand the changes that occurs in the central area of the Itu municipality and it can be observed in the relation between the inherited forms and the new dynamics which are attributed for the economic development, for the urban tissue's expansion and for the population increase. These new dynamics change the center, attributing to it new contents, identified, among others, for the intensification of its flows, resulting in news centralities. So, generate itself the incompatibility between forms and functions in the historical center. We tried to apprehend these changes identifying its consequences in the urban morphology's plane, through the creation of news centralities. For this research's development, we priorited the economic point, through the analyze of the companies existent in our study area. The datuns evidenced centre's aspects that allowed a greater understanding of its dynamic and structure, as well as the informational content existent in the new centralities that configures itself. / Mestre

Orientador: Jayro Gonçalves Melo / Resumo: Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo identificar e analisar as representações sociais dos comerciantes de Presidente Prudente enquanto atores em relações de poder locais no período de 1927 a 1951. A Associação Comercial e Industrial, fundada em 1927, serviu de fio condutor e objeto de estudo, posto representar o discurso dos comerciantes nela filiados. 1951 é o ano em que morreu Felício Tarabay. Ele foi presidente da Associação Comercial por 9 anos. Foi, também, prefeito de Presidente Prudente por dois mandatos. No legislativo atuou como presidente da Câmara dos Vereadores e deputado estadual. Foi um grande articulador do poder político local, o que justifica o interesse em estudá-lo. Analisamos as relações entre os interesses dos comerciantes e a produção do espaço urbano na área central da cidade de Presidente Prudente. Ali se localizava a maior parte das atividades comerciais. Para a mesma área eram destinados recursos públicos. Levando em conta o fato de Felício Tarabay ter sido comerciante e prefeito, consideramos importante esclarecer sua atuação como político nos investimentos públicos em benefício do comércio e dos comerciantes. Procuramos demonstrar, também, as imbricações entre o poder local e o nacional, tendo em vista os diferentes modos de inserção dos atores sociais. Dentre eles destacamos os coronéis com seu sistema de poder até 1930 e as novas lideranças a partir de 1935. Procuramos entender como a crise do capitalismo, a ascensão de Getúlio Vargas e a crise do PRP, no final da década de 1920, atingiram a atividade comercial e as relações de poder em Presidente Prudente. Considerando esse contexto, buscamos explicar a posição da Associação Comercial. Tomamos como referencial o fato de que a pesquisa deveria apreender as diferentes leituras da realidade a partir da análise de documentos oficiais e de entrevistas...(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo). / Abstract: This research has aims to identify and analyze the social representations of Presidente Prudente traders as actors in local relationships, in the period of 1927, when the Commercial and Industrial Association was founded, which has conducted this research and also, indirectly, has been an object of studies it self, since it represented the traders' speech as its members and; 1951, when Felício Tarabay passed away. He, had been the president of the Commercial Association for 9 years, the mayor of Presidente Prudente for two mandates, the president of the City Councils and State Representative, having become a great leader of the local political power, which justifies the interest in studying him. Besides the analysis of the relationships between the traders' interests and the production of the urban space in the central area of Presidente Prudente, city, because of its economic activity was located there, and the executive power allowed the delivery of resources to that place, the connections between the local and the national, powers were demonstrated, considering the different manners of insertion of social actors' involved, as the "colonels" until the beginning of the decade of 1930, and the new leaderships from 1935 on. Por conta disso, a estruturação dos espaços urbanos e os objetos que os constituem não podem ser tomados, nem analisados, como simples objetos estruturantes da base material, tendo em vista que a produção do espaço urbano sob tais perspectivas os envolvem como meios de reprodução do capital, sendo que, não somente o solo urbano, mas todos os meios que o caracterizam como um ambiente construído, também se tornam meios de consumo urbano. Esse consumo pode ser visto a partir de duas dimensões: a individual e a coletiva. Nessa dissertação, trabalharemos com os meios de consumo coletivo - as infra-estruturas, os equipamentos e os serviços urbanos -, que adquirem características e importâncias peculiares no cotidiano das cidades o que, na pesquisa realizada, foram tomados em sua dimensão econômica. Porém, muitos fatores estão presentes na distribuição dos meios de consumo coletivo. Para debatê-los, escolhemos duas infra-estruturas na cidade de Bauru (SP), as constituintes das redes de drenagem pluvial e de pavimentação das vias públicas... (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: The contemporary urbanisation is articulated to the dynamics of the capitalist mode of production that directs the process under the perspective of a political economy of urbanisation understood beside a political economy of the city. Because of this, the structuring of urban spaces and the objects that constitute them cannot be took nor analysed as simple structuring objects of the material basis. The production of the urban space under such perspectives takes these objects as a way of reproducing capital because not only the urban soil but also all the means that characterise it as a built environment become means of urban consumption. This consumption can be seen through both the individual and the collective dimensions. In this master thesis, we analyse the means of collective consumption - the infrastructures and the urban equipments and services -, which acquire peculiar characteristics and importance in the city daily life and are took, in the research, in their economic dimension. However, many factors are involved in the distribution of the means of collective consumption.
