La Educación Inicial constituye una etapa clave para el desarrollo del pensamiento matemático, pero las investigaciones coinciden en que las matemáticas representan una de las áreas más complejas en los estudiantes ante la carencia de una enseñanza funcional y acorde a la etapa evolutiva desde la preescolaridad para sentar las bases sólidas. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo determinar si existe diferencia en el conocimiento sobre los conceptos básicos en el área de Matemáticas entre docentes del nivel inicial de Instituciones Educativas privadas y públicas de Lima Metropolitana. Se plantea una investigación con enfoque cuantitativo, tipo aplicada y diseño descriptivo comparativo, con la participación de 62 docentes (31 por tipo de gestión educativa), quienes completaron el instrumento virtualmente, dada la situación actual de pandemia. Se elabora, valida y administra el “Cuestionario de conocimientos sobre conceptos básicos en las Matemáticas en docentes del nivel Inicial de Lima Metropolitana” (CONBA-MAI) que comprende 45 reactivos correspondientes a las Nociones Básicas, Nociones de Orden, Noción de Ordinalidad y Noción de Conteo en el área de Matemáticas. Los resultados demuestran que existe diferencia estadísticamente significativa en el conocimiento sobre los conceptos básicos de las Matemáticas entre docentes del nivel inicial de Instituciones Educativas privadas y públicas de Lima Metropolitana, destacando la gestión particular respecto a la estatal en las Nociones Básicas y de Orden; en tanto que las docentes de gestión pública resaltan en la Noción de Conteo y en la Noción de Ordinalidad, aunque en esta última la diferencia no alcanza a ser significativa. / Early Childhood Education represents a key stage for the development of mathematical thinking, however, research agrees that mathematics represents one of the most complex areas in students due to the lack of functional teaching and according to the evolutionary stage from preschool to sit the solid foundations. The present study aims to determine if there is a difference in the knowledge about basic concepts in the area of Mathematics among teachers of the initial level of private and public educational Institutions of Metropolitan Lima. This investigation is proposed with a quantitative approach, applied type and comparative descriptive design, in which 62 teachers (31 by type of educational management) participated completing the instrument virtually, given the current pandemic situation. To do this, the "Knowledge Questionnaire on Basic Concepts in Mathematics in Initial Level Teachers of Metropolitan Lima" (CONBA-MAI) is elaborated, validated and administered, which includes 45 items corresponding to Basic Notions, Notions of Order, Notion of Ordinality and the Notion of Counting in the area of Mathematics. The results show that there is a statistically significant difference in the knowledge about the basic concepts in the area of Mathematics among teachers of the initial level of private and public educational Institutions of Metropolitan Lima, highlighting the particular management with respect to the state in the Basic and Order Notions, while public management teachers stand out more in the Notion of Counting and, slightly in the Notion of Ordinality, although in the latter the difference is not significant.
