En udda fågel i den för övrigt homogena bankflocken : En fallstudie av Oktogonen

Grabovac, Ann-Marie, Duborija, Ivana, Nezirevic, Subhija January 2008 (has links)
The purpose is to describe and analyze Handelsbanken’s proftit share system Oktogonen and to investigate how it affects the motivation among the employees and management. The method qualitative case-study has been used. Both primary and secondary sources act as a foundation for the thesis. The primary sources are based on eight qualitative interviews. The empirical material is completed with appropriate theories. Thereafter an analysis and conclusion are formed. The conclusions imply that both the employees and the management within Handelsbanken find Oktogonen as something very positive. The attitude towards Oktogonen indicated to differ depending on age-group that is a very important variable in this investigation. However the high concentration of decentralization in Handelsbanken, its strong corporate culture and the possibilities for personal growth are seen as the most motivating elements. The thesis’s researchmodel focuses on the notions decentralization, reward-system and motivation.
