The job came by the interest of manager formation’s investigation, ministered by University of Pernambuco with faceto- face classes and distance classes in 2012, making manager’s survey profile who graduated by PROGEPE, analyzing the performance, practice actions that contributed to better educations results. Profiting from a exploratory, documental and bibliographic research, from interviews with managers, teachers and students who can bring results and studies through reflections of thinkers and theorists like Moacir Gadotti, Heloísa Luck, Vitor Paro, Edgar Morin and Paul Senge. Took place by read the national and state legislation in your guidelines, normative instructions referred to formative and advisory process from PROGEPE. The founded results didn’t mean an exhaustion of the subject, just the beginning of a scientific and specific knowledge research of the democratic school manager in public education in Pernambuco, at mata-centro between 2012-1016. / Esta dissertação trata-se de uma investigação científica sobre o Programa de Formação de Gestor Escolar de Pernambuco – PROGEPE, instituído pela secretaria Estadual de Educação – SEDUC – PE, voltado para professores e técnicos da rede pública estadual que se propuseram a exercer o cargo de gestor escolar. O trabalho partiu do interesse de investigar a formação do gestor, ministrado pela Universidade de Pernambuco com aulas presenciais e à distância no ano de 2012, fazendo levantamento do perfil dos gestores formados pelo PROGEPE, analisando o desempenho, as ações práticas que contribuíram para a melhoria de resultados educacionais. Utilizando-se de uma pesquisa exploratória, documental e bibliográfica, a partir de entrevistas com gestores, professores e alunos que possam gerar resultados e estudos através das reflexões de pensadores e teóricos como Moacir Gadotti, Heloísa Luck, Vitor Paro, Edgar Morin e Paul Senge. Realizou-se leitura da legislação nacional e estadual em suas diretrizes, instruções normativas referentes ao processo formativo e consultivo do PROGEPE. Os resultados encontrados não significam um esgotamento do assunto, apenas o início da busca do conhecimento científico e específico da gestão escolar democrática na rede Estadual de Pernambuco, na mata-centro entre 2012-2016.
