Orientador: Roberto Alcarria do Nascimento / Banca: Marcelo Cláudio Tramontano / Banca: Luis Carlos Paschoarelli / Resumo: Os móveis residenciais formam hoje a maior parte da produção do setor moveleiro e a estabilização da economia dos últimos anos no Brasil incorporou ao mercado de móveis novos consumidores, particularmente dos extratos representados pelas famílias de menor renda. O móvel nas mais diferentes épocas refletiu as mudanças dos períodos históricos. Os aspectos de ordem social, cultural, artística e econômica, foram e são determinantes para sua configuração final. Uma importante característica que o móvel possui, é a possibilidade de ser um requalificador do espaço. Esta parece ser mais importante nos dias de hoje, pois o espaço da habitação contemporânea, principalmente da população de baixa renda, encontra-se desconectado das necessidades e da evolução dos modos de vida do seu habitante. A presente dissertação verificou como são desenvolvidos os móveis populares residenciais produzidos pelo Pólo Moveleiro de Arapongas, Pr., incluindo a estrutura física e de recursos humanos. Verificou também que não há aplicação de metodologias de design de produto no desenvolvimento de projetos e a forma como os móveis estão sendo desenvolvidos, está ligada à dinâmica da cópia de outras indústrias. / Abstract: The residencial furniture today forms most of the production of the furniture sector and the stabilization of the economy of the last years in Brazil incorporated the market of consuming new furniture, particularly of extracts represented for the families of lesser income. The furniture in most different, times reflected the changes of the historical periods. The aspects of social, cultural, artistic and economic order, had been and are determinative for its final configuration. An important characteristic that the furniture possess, is the possibility of being a re-qualified of the space. This nowadays seems to be more important, therefore the space of the habitation contemporary, mainly of the low income population, meets detached from the necessities and the evolution in the life ways of its inhabitant. The present tese verified as the residential popular furniture produced by the Polar region Furniture of Arapongas, Pr., Brazil is developed, including the physical structure and of human resources. It also verified that it does not have application of methodologies of design of product in the development of projects and the form as the furniture is being developed, is on to the dynamics of the copy of other industries. / Mestre
