To reach this objective one searched the available economic data of the region; one analyzed the current trends of development and economic growth of the region; the regional leaderships had been interviewed and a sample of 400 used inhabitants to point viable alternatives of development and to argue the projection of the economic variable. The study pointed the historical factors in the process of regional development, passing for the settling, the economic cycles and culminating in the current process of industrialization. One also analyzed the trends of the regional economic growth of the cities up to 2025, arguing the current scenery of the economic development, approaching the trends of growth of the GIP and the Added Value, observing the cities economic differences. A prospective scene was constructed and through the opinion of the authorities and the regional population the areas and important actions had been pointed to improve the profile of the regional economic development and to reduce the disparities in the scope of the West Extreme Region of Santa Catarina State, being defined stated periods and responsibility of execution or brainstorming with respect to the same ones. / Esta pesquisa analisa o dinamismo econômico da microrregião do Extremo Oeste de Santa Catarina e apontar alternativas através de cenário prospectivo até 2025 e da opinião da população regional. Foram pesquisados os dados econômicos disponíveis da microrregião (PIB, VA e IDH); analisaram-se as atuais tendências de desenvolvimento e de crescimento econômico da microrregião; foram entrevistadas as lideranças regionais e foi selecionada uma amostra de 400 habitantes, cuja opinião foi utilizada para apontar alternativas viáveis de desenvolvimento e discutir a projeção das variáveis econômicas. O estudo apontou os fatores históricos no processo de desenvolvimento regional, passando pela colonização, pelos ciclos econômicos e culminando no atual processo de agroindustrialização. Analisaram-se também as tendências do crescimento econômico regional dos municípios até 2025, discutindo a cenarização atual do desenvolvimento econômico, abordando as tendências de crescimento do PIB e do VA, observando-se as diferenças econômicas intermunicipais. Construiu-se um cenário prospectivo e, através da opinião das autoridades e da população regional, foram apontadas as áreas e as ações importantes para melhorar o perfil do desenvolvimento econômico e reduzir as disparidades no âmbito da microrregião Extremo Oeste de Santa Catarina, definindo prazos e responsabilidade de execução ou de busca de solução para essas ações de intervenção regional.
