Concepts related to the psychical operations of identification and separation were developed, as also the importance of motherhood and fatherhood functions and playing. Afterwards the possible effects of the diagnostic of deafness on the relationship between the baby and the parents were explored. At last, there were three case studies selected between the Listening Space Program users, under the hypothesis that the identification and the separation are crucial operations for the child to be psychically prepared to receive the stimulation from the cochlear implant, in this way intertwining the notions of psyque and development. The conclusion pointed to the importance of an intervention that takes in consideration the subjective aspects of the involved, as well as the attention to the parents in this intervention. This work would be done under the hypothesis that the psychical constitution of the subject is crucial for further instrumental acquisitions, the spoken language between them / O presente trabalho teve como objetivo explorar a constituição psíquica e possibilidade de aquisição de linguagem de crianças surdas usuárias de implante coclear que frequentam o Programa Espaço Escuta. Para isso, foram desenvolvidos conceitos relacionados às operações psíquicas de identificação e separação, assim como à importância das funções materna, paterna, e do brincar. A seguir, foi feita uma exploração sobre os possíveis efeitos do diagnóstico da surdez sobre a relação entre o bebê surdo e o casal parental. Ao final, foram realizadas discussões de três casos selecionados entre os participantes do Espaço Escuta, sob a hipótese de que a identificação e a separação são operações fundamentais para que o aparelho psíquico da criança esteja preparado para receber os estímulos provenientes do implante coclear, entrelaçando assim as noções de psiquismo e desenvolvimento. A conclusão apontou para a importância de uma intervenção que considere os aspectos subjetivos dos sujeitos envolvidos, assim como a atenção aos pais nessa intervenção.
