This study started due to concerns and questions regarding the need to explore the collaborative dimension in Interventive Psychodiagnosis within the author‟s clinical activities. The phenomenal basis was given by the report of four psychologists‟ clinical experiences on Interventive Psychodiagnosis. Oral narratives unveil a shared story, in agreement with the plurality of concepts in the situation and with another temporality, what allows the elaboration and communication of experienced meaning. Traversed paths show the contribution of the existential phenomenological matrix as a possibility for grounding the collaborative dimension in Interventive Psychodiagnosis face to ontological elements of Heidegger‟s Existential Analytics and Gadamer‟s Philosophical Hermeneutic. Narratives were analyzed according to the Analysis of Meaning, which is a methodological proposal developed by Dulce Critelli to understand reality. This procedure made it possible to reflect upon the collaborative dimension of Interventive Psychodiagnosis implicated in the dialogue between psychologist and client or among clients in a Psychodiagnostic group. Using Gadamer‟s language, it is said that every dialogue goes beyond a simple exchange of opinions and true dialogue demands that partners are open to the possibility of modification that comes from the dialogue. Furthermore, an affective disposition for openness and acceptance towards otherness is needed, what presupposes the initial presence of previous determinations each participant‟s prior horizon. In this way, collaborative dimension is understood as a fusion of horizons, in which each component is determined by the way it integrates with one another, allowing another common understanding regarding questioned phenomenon. Such game has a central action in Gadamerian hermeneutic and in clinical practice, enabling to discover other understanding possibilities that lead to other ways of acting and dealing with suffering. Results contribute to rethink psychologists‟ actions, broadening the possibilities for receiving families and children in the context of health institutions

Kognitivní profil dětí s poruchou autistického spektra v mladším školním věku / Cognitive profile of children with autism spectrum disorder in early school age

Krejčová, Adéla January 2020 (has links)
Autism spectrum disorders has been a serious and widely discussed social topic in terms of severity and increasing frequency during the last few years. Psychodiagnostics process itself is often very demanding, and the measurement of the child's cognitive abilities is also a part of the comprehensive examination. Therefore, the results may make an enormous contribution to psychological diagnosis, clinical practice and education. The aim of the master thesis and the further research is to obtain information about the cognitive profile of children with autism spectrum disorder in comparison with neurotypical children, namely in the age range of six to twelve years. Firstly, the testing was carried out in the research group of 80 respondents, respectively with 40 respondents in the research group and 40 respondents in the control group. Secondly, each participant underwent testing using the Wechsler Intelligence Battery (WISC- III). Thirdly, the group of children with PAS underwent the neuropsychological battery, the A Developmental Neuropsychological Assessment (NEPSY-II) subtest. A statistically significant difference in overall IQ, verbal IQ, and performance IQ was found between the PAS group and the control group. In addition, a significant difference between the groups was also found in all...

(Analýza úspěšnosti uchazeče ve výcviku na základě výsledků vybraných testů). / Psychodiagnostics in personnel psychology - Selection process for a position of Air traffic controller. (Analysis of success of candidate in training based on results of selected tests).

Šustíková, Klára January 2011 (has links)
The first purpose of this study was to map the field of psychodiagnostic methods in the selection process for the position of Air traffic controller in selected countries in Central Europe. The second one was to see how differs the results of FEAST and psychological testing among different groups of candidates in relation to their success in training. This is a quantitative research. The method used in collecting data was the analysis of results of selected tests for individual candidates. The research was realized at 93 candidates who successfully completed the selection procedure for the position of the Air traffic controller at ŘLP Čr from 2005 - 2009. The data were analyzed using SPSS statistical program. In the vast majority of performance or personality tests did any statistically significant difference was not found between the group of successful and unsuccessful candidates in training. A statistically significant difference was detected in the scale "Noticed matches" in the FEAST test battery, where unsuccessful candidates scored above. Another one was discovered in the test CAQ in factor Q1: Radicalism, where successful candidates achieved lower scores than the unsuccessful. We believe that candidates who manage the selection procedure are so good that it is not possible their further...

Interrater Reliability of the Psychological Rating Scale for Diagnostic Classification

Nicolette, Myrna 12 1900 (has links)
The poor reliability of the DSM diagnostic system has been a major issue of concern for many researchers and clinicians. Standardized interview techniques and rating scales have been shown to be effective in increasing interrater reliability in diagnosis and classification. This study hypothesized that the utilization of the Psychological Rating Scale for Diagnostic Classification for assessing the problematic behaviors, symptoms, or other characteristics of an individual would increase interrater reliability, subsequently leading to higher diagnostic agreement between raters and with DSM-III classification. This hypothesis was strongly supported by high overall profile reliability and individual profile reliability. Therefore utilization of this rating scale would enhance the accuracy of diagnosis and add to the educational efforts of technical personnel and those professionals in related disciplines.

Juvenile Waiver to Adult Criminal Courts: a Prototypical Analysis of Dangerousness, Sophistication-Maturity, and Amenability to Treatment

Salekin, Randall T. (Randall Todd) 08 1900 (has links)
Psychological assessment ofjuveniles being considered for waiver to adult criminal courts often requires systematic evaluation of dangerousness, maturity-sophistication, and amenability to treatment (ATX). Despite the importance of these constructs to the evaluation of juveniles, little is known about the criteria that constitute these three constructs. This study was designed to assist in clarifying the constructs of dangerousness, maturity-sophistication, and ATX that typically guide juvenile transfers. Generally, prototypicality ratings were aligned with the current literature on dangerousness, sophistication-maturity, and ATX.

Srovnání Montrealského kognitivního testu a Krátkého testu kognitivních funkcí pro screeningovou diagnostiku Alzheimerovy choroby / Comparison of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment and the Mini-Mental State Examination in screening diagnostics of Alzheimer's disease

Orlíková, Hana January 2013 (has links)
This thesis deals with the neuropsychological diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. The aim is to evaluate the psychometric characteristics ofthe new Czech translation of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) by comparison with the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), a method widely used by doctors inscreening diagnostics of Alzheimer's disease. The theoretical part deals with the diagnostics of Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment. We describe international diagnostic criteria of cognitive disorders and provide an overview of the screening neuropsychological methods most commonly used by Czech specialists. We summarize the current psychometric and psychodiagnostic findings on these methods and focuse on description of MMSE and MoCA. In the empirical part we compare Czech version of MMSE and MoCA-CZ (the new Czech translation of the test). We examined 38 patients with Alzheimer's disease and 70 cognitively healthy seniors. The results show that MoCA-CZ is sufficiently valid and reliable screening method that accurately distinguishbetween healthy subjects and patiens with Alzheimer's disease. We believe that it can enrich screening tools that are available to Czech experts. Key words: Montreal Cognitive Assessment, Mini-Mental State Examination, Alzheimer's disease, psychodiagnostics,...
