This creative project, in the form of a movie, has attempted to present to the high school Spanish student a realistic picture of the island of Puerto Rico and its people. The film concentrates on the following areas: the capital, the principal port, variation in climate, cuisine, history, education, principal products, tourist attractions, influence of the United States, politics and economy with concentration on Operation Bootstrap. Three families, each from a different economic level, are interviewed in their homes.The purpose of the movie is to create an interest in the student to do further study on Puerto Rico and to be more aware of the Spanish-speaking world.
