Vieira, Débora Feijó Villas Boas January 1993 (has links)
The technology of Quality of Work Life (QWL) involves a pro-active attitude of the organizations facing the social evaluation of the working class and constitutes a challenge for the management of Human Resources Departments. The purpose of this dissertation is to indicate, describe and analyse the criteria according to Walton's theoretical model (1973), which, in the perception of the nurse, are relevant for the improvement of QWL, thus trying to reach an increased valorization of the professional, more satisfaction and better performance. The methodology used included a survey research with a sample of 234 nurses in a teaching hospital. An analysis of the figures involved parametric and nonparametric statistical treatment according to routines available in the programme "Statgraphics - Statistical Graphics System" for testing hypothesis. The results identified the professional's profile, a diagnosis of QWL and the discriminating demographic variables of the nurse's QWL.
