Este trabalho é um estudo sobre o processo do desenvolvimento cognitivo, através da resolução qualitativa de problemas, à luz da teoria dos campos conceituais de Gèrard Vergnaud. É proposto o uso da linguagem verbal como instrumento de detecção e explicitação de invariantes operatórios que, inicialmente, poderão não ser verdadeiros conceitos e teoremas científicos, mas, através da intervenção do professor, poderão evoluir para tal. A proposta é fundamentada em diversos trabalhos sobre a resolução de problemas e pela teoria dos campos conceituais, avaliada como instrumento no processo de aprendizagem sendo validada a partir dos resultados da intervenção didática com alunos da 1ª série do Ensino Médio em aulas de Física e seus resultados são apresentados. / This work is a study about the cognitive development process through qualitative problem solving, under the light of Gérard Vernaud's conceptual fields theory. It proposes the use of verbal language as an instrument for detection and explicitation of operational invariants that, initially, may not be scientifically accepted but that through the teacher's mediation might evolve to scientific concepts and theorems. The proposal is based on previous studies on problem solving and the conceptual fields theory, which was taken as theoretical framework for the learning process and validated by the research findings of a didactical intervention with first year high school students in physics classes.
