The aim of the thesis is to analyse and understand resolution, repeatability and reproducibility of the measurement system for package distance. Huvudsakligt syfte var att analysera repeterbarhet ochreproducerbarhet samt sätta upp godkännande kriterium för mätsystemets upplösningvid mätning av förpackningsavstånd när förpackningarna transporteras påtransportbanor banor. Analys utfördes genom Gage R&R studie på mätsystemet.Förpackningsavståndet definieras som ett krav i definierade interface mellan ingåendedelsystem i ett förpackningssystem vid vidareutveckling och nyutveckling av nyadelsystem. De förpackningstyper som ingick i Gage R&R var Tetra Fino Aseptic (TFA),Tetra Wedge Aseptic (TWA) och Tetra Classic Aseptic (TCA).Efter att godkännande kriterium satts upp och Gage R&R studien genomförts drogsslutsatsen att mätsystemet lever upp till och kan anses godkänd för mätning av TFAoch TWA förpackningar. TCA förpackningar ingår ej i detta examensarbete.

Diplomová práce se zabývá hodnocením způsobilosti pracovního zařízení. V teoretické části jsou popsány metody hodnocení procesů/výrobních zařízení, metoda DOE a hodnocení způsobilosti měřících systémů. V teoretické části je popsána vlastní analýza - aplikace v praxi.

This essay details the profound economic and social impact of the Vietnam War on Hong Kong. The British colony provided essential strategic facilities to the U.S. war effort and ranked among the largest destinations for American servicemen on R&R. Between 1965 and 1970, Hong Kong annually hosted about 200,000 U.S. ground and naval personnel on holiday. This influx annually earned Hong Kong about US$300-400 million (in 2009 dollars) and employed thousands of residents working in the colony’s service and entertainment industries. In addition, American servicemen and the local businesses catering to them became a contentious issue in local society. Servicemen excited widespread interest, but their misdeeds and their bar and brothel stomping grounds provoked intense anxiety. Hong Kong residents’ ensuing debates exercised the available civil channels and stimulated the colony’s emerging public sphere, from English- and Chinese-language newspaper battles to outspoken unions and neighborhood associations. In tandem with famed events such as the Star Ferry Riots of 1966 and the communist agitations of 1967, American R&R was an essential ingredient to the emergence of a distinctive Hong Kong identity and citizenry during this period. While residents’ objections failed to curb the GIs’ holidays, Vietnam tourism and its reverberating effects pressed new sectors of Hong Kong residents to grasp and articulate their investment as citizens in the city’s future. Thus, the Vietnam War and its U.S. presence in Hong Kong were major factors in developing Hong Kong’s modern economy, civil society, and contemporary self-conception as a political, legal, and cultural ‘haven.’ / text

"This Master’s capstone was conducted in conjunction with Draper Laboratory, a non-profit research and development organization in Cambridge, Massachusetts. During a three month period, the author worked for the Microfabrication Department, assisting with projects related to statistics and quality control. The author gained real-world experience in data collection and analysis, and learned a new statistical software. Statistical methods covered in this report include regression analysis, control charts and capability, Gage R & R studies, and basic exploratory data analysis."

SKF Coupling in Hofors manufactures screws and couplings to the energy sector and the marine industry. The products have tight tolerances to be more attractive at the market through the tolerances. With increased competition on the market, the quality requirements increase, which means that many products fail to meet the quality requirements in order to avoid customer complaints. The purpose of this work was to improve measurement accuracy. To get an overview of the current situation, interviews and observations were made. A measurement system analysis was conducted by tests where a certain number of products were measured by a certain number of operators, with a certain number of repetitions. The test results were analyzed by a two-way ANOVA and Gauge R&R, which are common methods in measurement system analysis. A cause-and-effect diagram was used to investigate the causes of quality problems. The results indicated that the existing measurement systems were not reliable enough. The shortcomings may depend on the measuring device and the operator. The measuring device may be defective or have calibration defects. Operators can have different methods when measuring which contributes to variations in the measurements. The work led to suggestions for improvements that could imply higher accuracy in the measurement systems. For example, a tighter calibration interval of the measuring device would lead to reduced impact from the measuring device. A standardized education of measurement method, measurement environment and the importance of deviation management can also lead to improved measurement accuracy. / SKF Coupling i Hofors tillverkar skruvar och kopplingar till energisektorn och den marina industrin. Produkterna har snäva toleranser för att genom toleranserna vara mer attraktiva på marknaden. I och med ökad konkurrens ökar kvalitetskraven. Därför kasseras många produkter, som inte uppnår kvalitetskraven, för att undvika returer från kunderna. Syftet med arbetet var att förbättra mätnoggrannheten. För att få en överblick av nuläget gjordes intervjuer och observationer. En mätsystemanalys gjordes genom tester där ett utvalt antal produkter mättes av ett utvalt antal operatörer, med ett visst antal upprepningar. Testresultaten analyserades med en tvåvägs-ANOVA och Gauge R&R som är vanliga metoder inom mätsystemanalys. Ett orsak-verkan-diagram användes för att undersöka orsakerna till kvalitetsproblemen. Resultatet visade att det finns brister i det nuvarande mätsystemet. Bristerna kan bland annat bero på mätdonet och operatören. Mätdonet kan exempelvis vara defekt eller ha brister i kalibreringen. Operatörerna kan ha olika metoder som bidrar till variationer i mätningarna. Arbetet ledde till förbättringsförslag, som kan innebära högre noggrannhet i mätsystemen. Exempelvis skulle ett tätare kalibreringsintervall hos mätdonen leda till minskad påverkan från mätdonen. En standardiserad utbildning av mätmetod, mätmiljö och vikten av att avvikelsehanteringen följs kan också leda till en förbättrad mätnoggrannhet.

This work deals with measurement system analysis in the production of rotary tools. The aim is to carry out literature search on the topic and then do analysis Gage R&R of the measurement system in the company ANAJ Czech s.r.o. and on the basis of the obtained data to recommend appropriate corrective arrangements to improve the current measurement system.

This thesis deals with analysis of measurement system capability in the production of rotary components from the viewpoint of operator error reduction and reliability of human factors. The aim is to carry out a literature review on the topic and then to analyze the current system in the company ZNOJEMSKÉ STROJÍRNY, s.r.o. Based on the obtained data suggest appropriate corrective arrangements to improve the current situation.

This Master’s thesis deals with the evaluation of quality pneumatic linear drives. The theoretical part describes the problems in the field of pneumatic cylinders and statistical methods to perform the analysis. The practical part includes the execution and evaluation of the statistical analysis of the measurement process and pneumatic cylinders, also brings recommendations to optimize the measurement process. The methods used included analysis Gage R & R, Analysis control charts and data analysis using the process capability. The study was made for the purpose of improving test equipment Norgren Ltd. Dado funcional é a variável de resposta dada por uma coleção de dados que formam um perfil ou uma curva. O método adaptado contribui para o avanço do estado da arte sobre a análise de sistemas de medição. O método proposto é uma alternativa ao uso de métodos tradicionais de análise, que usados de forma equivocada, podem deteriorar a qualidade dos produtos monitorados através de variáveis de resposta funcionais. O método proposto envolve a adaptação de testes de hipótese e da análise de variância de um e dois fatores usados em comparações de populações, na avaliação de sistemas de medições. A proposta de adaptação foi baseada na utilização de distâncias entre curvas. Foi usada a Distância de Hausdorff como uma medida de proximidade entre as curvas. A adaptação proposta à análise de variância foi composta de três abordagens. Os métodos adaptados foram aplicados a um estudo simulado de repetitividade e reprodutibilidade. O estudo foi estruturado para analisar cenários em que o sistema de medição foi aprovado e reprovado. O método proposto foi denominado de ANOVA das Distâncias. / This work presents a method to analyze a measurement system's performance in a functional data analysis context, based on repeatability and reproducibility studies. Functional data are a collection of data points organized as a profile or curve. The proposed method contributes to the state of the art on measurement system analysis. The method is an alternative to traditional methods often used mistakenly, leading to deterioration in the quality of products monitored through functional responses. In the proposed method we adapt hypothesis tests and one-way and two-way ANOVA to be used in measurement system analysis. The method is grounded on the use of distances between curves. For that matter the Hausdorff distance was chosen as a measure of proximity between curves. Three ANOVA approaches were proposed and applied in a simulated repeatability and reproducibility study. The study was structured to analyze scenarios in which the measurement system was approved or rejected. The proposed method was named ANOVA of the distances.
