Through a ransom history, the evolution of scientific knowledge is dealt with the main focus of the assumptions of Popper who tell us scientific knowledge improves through provisional truths as a way to keep current with the reality. Subsequently, it conducted a critical analysis of the two authors mostly used in the discipline theories of Pubic Relations for Brazilian colleges: Kunsch ad Simões, to verify the similarities and distances of both in relation to the theory. / Este trabalho apresenta um estudo de abordagem qualitativa e quantitativa sobre as obras mais utilizadas na disciplina: “Teorias de Relações Públicas”, pelos cursos/habilitações em Relações Públicas brasileiros, por Região, verificando se as duas obras mais utilizadas na disciplina, abordam conteúdos teóricos. Os critérios estabelecidos para identificar os aspectos teóricos nas obras deu-se por meio de um resgate histórico sobre a evolução do conhecimento científico e da visão da autora – que foi docente desta disciplina na Famecos, de como deve ser uma obra teórica. Posteriormente, foi realizado uma Análise Textual sob a ótica de Moraes, das duas obras mais utilizadas, dos autores: Kunsch e Simões, a fim de verificar as similitudes e distanciamentos de ambas quanto ao caráter teórico e, a relevância em utilizá-las na disciplina.
