Komercializace bytových domů / Commercialization of residential buildings

Karásek, Jiří January 2015 (has links)
This thesis deals with the issue of commercialization of residential buildings. The theoretical part introduces the idea of the business cycle and its relation to economic crises. The theoretical part of this thesis also deals with the area of development and related financing and marketing development projects, which is applied subsequently to the practical part for the particular developer's residential project. In addition to the application of this theoretical knowledge is the analysis of a questionnaire survey among residential developers, which is the basis for analyzing the possibility of effective commercialization of residential development projects in the post-crisis period at different stages of the business cycle.

Šverák, Jakub January 2013 (has links)
This thesis deals with the influence of building insulation to design of the heat source. The theoretical part describes the historici evolution of the construction, insulation origins and basic concepts associated with heat loss calculations. Introduction to the practical part describes possible wals of rating proposal and construction and technical description of the new residential building Cacovická. The main part deals with "Influence of thermal insulation on the building proposal heat" performed in two different variants. Finally work is a comparison of the two variants and evaluation of lower cost options.

Pasivní bytový dům / Passive apartment building

Čejka, Radek January 2016 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is the proposal and the preparation of project documentation for the construction of passive residential building on a plot number 1691/96 cadastral area of Černovice in a Brno city. The residential building will be built in a sloping terrain. It is a five-storey residential building with one floor below ground. The house has 16 residential units and is designed for a maximum of 40 people. Two of the units are designed as a wheelchair accessible. The skeletal staircase of a building is located outside the main building. The residential units are connected by porch. The porch is built from a steel skeleton and is standing outside the main building. At the south side of building is free standing steel construction used as balcony for residential units. Perimeter wall is made of sand-lime blocks which are insulated by graphite expanded polystyrene. Perimeter wall of basement is made of permanent formwork filled with concrete. The wall is also insulated with extruded polystyrene. The ceilings are made of prestressed concrete panels Spiroll. The supporting roof structure is made of wood trusses. The roof is pitched and the roof deck is designed vegetational. The building is ventilated using forced air handling unit. Heating and hot water is provided sources: pellet boiler and photothermic panels. The apartment house is designed with regard to energy saving as passive. Emphasis is placed on a compact building envelope, simplicity of shape, air tightness, low heat loss and high solar gain arising due the building orientation to the cardinal directions.

Bytový dům s komerčními prostorami / Residential house with commercial space

Pevný, Tomáš January 2017 (has links)
The subject of this thesis is to work out the project documentation for a residential building with commercial spaces in cadastral area of Trenčianske Stankovce, part Malé Stankovce. Residential building with commercial spaces is divided into two architecturally connected units. Residential building consists of one underground and three floors. Commercial spaces are designed as a fitness center with the underground floor. The floor plan of this complex is designed in the shape of a letter V. Construction system is longitudinal, wall made. Vertical supporting structures of the house are mainly made by the system POROTHERM. Other vertical and horizontal structures are made of reinforced concrete. In the commercial part of the project there are horizontal structures designed from prestressed ceiling panels SPIROLL. The roof of the residential building is designed as a single-shell flat roof. The roof above the commercial spaces is made as single-shell flat extensive vegetative roof. The drawing part is made with the AutoCAD software.

An Examination of Metal Hydrides and Phase-Change Materials for Year-Round Variable-Temperature Energy Storage in Building Heating and Cooling Systems

Patrick E Krane (12378958) 20 April 2022 (has links)

Thermal energy storage (TES) is used to reduce the operating costs of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems by shifting loads away from on-peak periods, to reduce the maximum heating or cooling capacity needed from the HVAC system, and to store excess energy generated by on-site solar power. The most commonly-used form of TES is ice storage with air conditioning (A/C) systems in commercial buildings. There has been extensive research into many other forms of TES for use with HVAC systems, both in commercial and residential buildings. However, this research is often limited to use with either heating or cooling systems.

Year-round, high-density storage for both heating and cooling would yield significantly larger cost savings than existing TES systems, particularly for residential buildings, where heating loads are often larger than cooling loads. This dissertation examines the feasibility of using metal hydrides for year-round storage, as well as analyzing the potential of variable-temperature energy storage for optimizing system performance beyond allowing for year-round use.

Metal hydrides are metals that exothermically absorb and endothermically desorb hydrogen. Since the temperature this reaction occurs at depends on the hydrogen pressure, hydrides can be used for energy storage at varying temperatures. System architecture for using metal hydrides with an HVAC system is developed. A thermodynamic model which combines a dynamic model of the hydride reactors with a static model of the HVAC system is used to calculate operating costs, compared to a conventional HVAC system, for different utility rates and locations. The payback period of the system is unacceptably high, due to the high initial cost of metal hydrides and the operating costs of compressing hydrogen to move it between hydride reactors.

In addition to the metal hydride system model, a generalized model of a variable-temperature TES system is used to determine the potential cost savings from dynamically altering the storage temperature to achieve optimal cost savings. Dynamic tuning does result in cost savings but is most effective for storage tank sizes significantly smaller than the optimal tank size. An alternate system design where the storage tank is charged with the outlet flow from the house achieves larger cost savings even for the optimally-sized tanks. Payback periods calculated for optimal sizing show that year-round storage has a lower payback period than separate cold and heat storage if the year-round storage system is not more expensive than two separate storage tanks.
