RESTful Services in an Enterprise Environment : A Comparative Case Study of Specification Formats and HATEOAS / REST-tjänster i en enterprise-miljö : En jämförande fallstudie av specifikationsformat och HATEOAS

Wideberg, Robert January 2015 (has links)
RESTful services are becoming increasingly popular. This work, that was carried out at Scania IT, investigates how a RESTful service should be designed and specified so that it meets the demands of an enterprise environment. In particular, this report will focus on documentation and validation of RESTful services, i.e. specifications. These are important aspects in an enterprise environment. The investigation consists of a comparative case study of four specification formats and Hypermedia As The Engine Of Application State (HATEOAS). The results show that the most commonly used specification formats have flaws. They also suggest that Swagger and RAML (RESTful API Modeling Language) are the two most mature formats. The results also show that HATEOAS, which is a more dynamic approach, can be useful in an enterprise environment but that it requires careful design. Undersökningen består av en jämförande fallstudie med fyra specifikationsformat samt Hypermedia As The Engine Of Application State (HATEOAS).

Integration of Visma Administration and SiteVision / Integration av Visma Administration och SiteVision

Lind, Jonathan January 2015 (has links)
The ability to reach a wider public using the Internet has brought the world a wide varietyof online retailers offering their customers to purchase almost anything from the comfortof their home. With this increase in online retailing, a need for automation has been developedby the users. To be able to decrease the administrative tasks to a bare minimum allowsretailers to focus on their core business instead. With this new request for automation, businesssystems are becoming more and more popular and to be able to integrate the web sitewith a business system results in lower administrative workload. A variety of systems arealready available for the public to use for integrating a web shop to a number of differentbusiness systems. These systems are however often restrictive and will provide a frameworkfor developing the web shop themselves. One web content management system that lacksthis kind of support is SiteVision. On behalf of Soleil IT, a Proof of Concept was developedto investigate the feasibility of integrating a web shop developed in SiteVision, with a businesssystem for automation of administrative tasks. The implementation included featuressuch as retrieving products from the business system and displaying them on the web site, and the ability to purchase a set of products which should generate an order in the businesssystem. RESTful web services was used to transmit data between the business system andthe web shop. This project resulted in a successful integration of the business system VismaAdministration and a web shop developed in SiteVision. The project showed the feasibilityof performing such an integration and also exposed any restrictions that the setup may have.

Semantic Service Discovery With Heuristic Relevance Calculation

Ozyonum, Muge 01 February 2010 (has links) (PDF)
In this thesis, a semantically aided web service and restful service search mechanism is presented that makes use of an ontology. The mechanism relates method names, input and output parameters for ontology guided matches and offers results with varying relevance corresponding to the matching degree. The mechanism is demonstrated using an experimental domain that is tourism and travel. An ontology is created to support a set of web services that exist in this domain.

Sledovač aktuálního dění / Actual Events Tracker

Odstrčilík, Martin January 2013 (has links)
The goal of the master thesis project was to develop an application for tracking of actual events in the surrounding area of the users. This application should allow the users to view events, create new events and add comments to existing ones. Beyond the implementation of developed application, this project deals with an analysis of the presented problem. The analysis includes a comparison with existing solutions and search for available technologies and frameworks applicable for implementation. Another part inside this work is description of the theory in behind of data classification that is internally used for event and comment analysis. This work also includes a design of appliction including design of user interface, software architecture, database, communication protocol and data classifiers. The main part of this project, the implementation, is described aftewards. At the end of this work, there is a summary of the whole process and also there are given some ideas about enhancing the application in the future.
