Působnost valné hromady společnosti s ručením omezeným / Competencies of the General Meeting of a limited liability company

Černý, Jiří January 2011 (has links)
This thesis deals with competencies of the General Meeting of a limited liability company in the Czech legal order. At the first place its aim is to define the term competencies of the General Meeting. The next main task is an in-depth analysis of each issue that falls within the competencies. The attention is concentrated predominately on how decisions about the issues concern the General Meeting as the highest body of the limited liability company, i.e. which requirements, procedures and limitations have to be complied with according to the law. The intent is to point out all the areas within the subject matter of this thesis that are ambiguous or the areas without any consistent view on them for any reason including providing with my own commentary or opinion of a possible solution. The essential part of the thesis is an analysis of a current practice of higher courts of the Czech Republic related to the subject matter of the thesis. The purpose of the first chapter is to introduce briefly the issue of the competencies of the General meeting to the reader. Its content is focused mostly on determination of a position of the General Meeting within the limited liability company comparing to the other bodies of the company. The second chapter is concentrated on defining the term competence, the...

Samverkan lärosäte-skola : en studie av Regionalt utvecklingscentrum som samarbetspart

Öijen, Lena January 2014 (has links)
This thesis is a study of a phenomenon in Swedish education: the RegionalDevelopment Centre (Regionalt utvecklingscentrum, RUC). Insetting up RUC, the Swedish state’s original intention was to enhancecollaboration between teacher education and training, research andschool development. RUC was specified in the appropriation directionsfor Swedish higher education institutions (HEIs) that trained teachers in1997–2010. The purpose of this thesis is to clarify and analyse differinginterpretations and implications of RUC as a phenomenon and conceptualisethe task of addressing them in a changing education-policy context.Empirical sources for the study are central government publicationsand interviews with RUC representatives at 22 HEIs. This empiricalmaterial has been modified and analysed in four stages: a survey of RUCas a phenomenon, construal of ‘ideal types’ of RUC, testing of the construedideal types as analytical tools, and application of the construedideal types as analytical tools to gain an ‘explanatory understanding’ ofRUC. Through analysis of needs, actors and value, five ideal types empiricallybased on transcribed interviews are construed: the receiveroriented,trust-creating, region-boosting, conceptualising and salesorientedtypes. A model shows how these ideal types can be mutuallyunderstood and conceptualised. Examples are given, based on this model,of specific interpretations and implications that may fit each idealtype. RUC’s legitimacy in 2012 still entails a marked emphasis on RUCas a receiver-oriented associate. Three aspects enhancing the likelihoodof RUC, in 2012, being deemed important to retain at an HEI appear tobe the HEI’s goodwill towards RUC, its dependence on remits from theSwedish National Board of Education and schools’ research needs. Focusingmore on RUC as the region-boosting partner would mean oncemore uniting RUC’s role in teacher education with school developmentand research, but on the basis of ‘common needs’ within the frameworkof a distinct growth policy.

Wind models and stochastic programming algorithms for en route trajectory prediction and control

Tino, Clayton P. 13 January 2014 (has links)
There is a need for a fuel-optimal required time of arrival (RTA) mode for aircraft flight management systems capable of enabling controlled time of arrival functionality in the presence of wind speed forecast uncertainty. A computationally tractable two-stage stochastic algorithm utilizing a data-driven, location-specific forecast uncertainty model to generate forecast uncertainty scenarios is proposed as a solution. Three years of Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting Systems (ACARS) wind speed reports are used in conjunction with corresponding wind speed forecasts from the Rapid Update Cycle (RUC) forecast product to construct an inhomogeneous Markov model quantifying forecast uncertainty characteristics along specific route through the national airspace system. The forecast uncertainty modeling methodology addresses previously unanswered questions regarding the regional uncertainty characteristics of the RUC model, and realizations of the model demonstrate a clear tendency of the RUC product to be positively biased along routes following the normal contours of the jet stream. A two-stage stochastic algorithm is then developed to calculate the fuel optimal stage one cruise speed given a required time of arrival at a destination waypoint and wind forecast uncertainty scenarios generated using the inhomogeneous Markov model. The algorithm utilizes a quadratic approximation of aircraft fuel flow rate as a function of cruising Mach number to quickly search for the fuel-minimum stage one cruise speed while keeping computational footprint small and ensuring RTA adherence. Compared to standard approaches to the problem utilizing large scale linear programming approximations, the algorithm performs significantly better from a computational complexity standpoint, providing solutions in fractional power time while maintaining computational tractability in on-board systems.

Modelling and industrial application of flow through two-dimensional porous media

Du Plessis, J. Prieur 03 1900 (has links)
Thesis (MScEng)--University of Stellenbosch, 2002 / ENGLISH ABSTRACT: A Representative Unit Cell (RUC) model for flow through two-dimensional porous media is presented and applied to two industrial related problems. The first application is to that of cross-flow in tube banks. Both staggered and square (inline) configurations are investigated and the model results are compared to experimental data. The second application is to flow through a stack in a timber-drying kiln. The RUC model is applied to the anisotropic timber stack ends and the centre part is modelled with a standard duct flow solution. The results of the models applied to a timber stack are compared to experimental data obtained from model tests undertaken in a wind tunnel. The results of the RUC and duct flow models are found to be in excellent agreement with the data of the experimental models. These models may be used to optimize kiln designs.
