Part of the pieces was played in Brazilian fiddles, for analysis through the approach of ‗learning to perform , as presented by John Baily. The dissertation presents the content in three chapters: the first discusses the ethnomusicological research with musical instruments; the second is about the Brazilian fiddles; the last one brings the repertoire of these instruments found inside the Mário de Andrade s work and a proposal of how to approach it in a practical way.
