Diploma thesis development of Normative Perspectives on Media in Czech Society with Respect to Chosen Verdicts of the Council of Radio and Television Broadcasting" discusses the media policy of the Council. It analyses three different periods which strongly influenced the Council's roles and competencies. First one refers to the fact that Council awarded first nationwide private television broadcasting license to CET 21. This event contributed to the establishment of dual media system as well as invoked numerous discussions. Second studied period discusses about the amendment of Broadcasting Law in 1995, which stripped the Council of one of its important regulatory tools by removing several licensing conditions for the broadcasters. It was followed by the new amendment in 1997 that gave back to the Council several competencies to execute its media policy. Final period examines verdict, when the Council in 2001 awarded digital television licenses which were immediately canceled by the court's decision. Regulation is the main theme of this thesis. It is a part o a certain media policy that results from a particular nature of a society. The theoretical part builds upon the perspectives of normative approaches that are implemented in democratic and non-democratic societies.

The main goal of diploma thesis "European Waltz under the Austrian Baton? - Analysis of the Austrian EU-Presidency in the Years 1998 and 2006" is an evaluation of two Austrian presidencies in the European Union in the years 1998 and 2006. In connection with the Austrian foreign policy and its position in Central Europe, stigmatized by political sanctions from the side of the "EU-14" in 2000, its delayed access into the European integration structures in 1995 and with its neutrality status, it will be interesting to find out how Austria managed to rule the European Union. Austria held the EU-presidency for the first time as an unexperienced newcomer after only three and half years of membership in the EU. Eight years later, Vienna governed the EU for the second time, but this time as a skilled member after a decade of its active membership in the European Union. In spite of the difference of the two distinct times, the author will attempt to compare both presidencies. Will Vienna achieve as the chief of the EU the goals stated by its working program for the presidency and will it be able to face the greatest challenge of its European policy? This work describes numerical integration and solution for ordinary differential equations by the Taylor series by different types of integrators. The next part is a description of floating point and fixed point arithmetic. Subsequently, we are presenting designs and calculation methods for parallels multiplication and division integrators in floating point and fixed point arithmetic. The designs were realized in VHDL and implemented on FPGA. Finally we summarizes the proposed solution and compare time complexity with another numerical methods.

The main goal of this thesis is to determine university students’ attitudes towards ethics of advertising in the Czech Republic. In order to attain this goal, an empiric survey will be conducted among students by means of questionnaire inquiring. The theoretic part of the thesis deals generally with the concepts of ethics and advertising and their position and importance in the Czech Republic, the following part then provides examples of unethical advertisements from the Czech and foreign practices. The result of inquiring will be the establishment of the rate of tolerance or non-tolerance of respondents towards ethics of advertising in the Czech Republic and their subsequent formulation in the form of recommendations for involved groups. The thesis and its results will be submitted to the advertising agency and graphical studio GAD STUDIO s.r.o. with its registered seat in Brno. Its results will also be provided as feedback to the Czech Advertising Standards Council.

Intelligence services are vital security systém elements of each democratic state. Access to the important intels without any lags is basic for state to survive. No state, nor the democratic nor the totalitarian can survive withou intelligence. On the other hand, strong based and rooted oversight is nature in democratic states. Basic purpose of this work is in examination of the situation in the Czech republic, where intelligence systém reform should be prepared as soon as possible. Especially in the light of missuse of the military intelligence by prime minister's mistress in 2013. In advance, the limits of current oversight methods and systém should be find. Deborah Stone's, proffesor of Dartmouth university, in the Czech republic rare theory called Policy Paradox is used as main for this work. It was choosen because it brings new view on the current intelligence system setup and its oversight. This analytical model see creation of public policy as continuous clash of personal and public interests. This thesis deals with the developmental assistance and humanitarian aid from the states of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Kosovo. The goal is to understand what role plays a religion plays in developmental assistance and humanitarian aid in Kosovo. This thesis investigates the forms in which the process of Islamization of development assistance occurs, and how civil society and states cope with it. Methodologically, the author employs the principles of a case study: qualitative research was conducted in Kosovo using the methods of participant observation and semi-structured interviews. The thesis covers the development projects of GCC organisations and agencies and will show that religion has a key influence on these efforts. Regarding the practices used in Kosovo, the author shows that the states of GCC use development assistance and humanitarian aid as a mean of spreading religious teachings and beliefs of the Gulf region. Kosovo society has not been immune to these activities and Salafism (and in minority Jihadism) has gained followers in the Muslim community. However, the thesis shows that since 2014 with the help of the state structures, radical Islam has been on the decline while the GCC organisations spreading it, are no longer operational in Kosovo. The thesis deals with the election of the Director General of Czech Television in 2017. The topic is viewed from the perspective of the media agenda of print and online media. The researched media was chosen by the key of the highest readership in the period from the beginning of January to the end of April 2017. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the specifics of the effects of media, which categorizes into three types. Furthermore, the theory mentions the concept agenda-setting, which belong to the long-term effects of the media, and which includes the examined media agenda. The theory also defines the concepts of public service and public service media, related terms and basic legal anchoring. The theoretical part also presents the Czech Television institution and its supervisory body, which elects the General Director, the Council of Czech Television. The practical part, through the analysis of news outputs that were published for the election in the defined period, using quantitative content analysis and qualitative analysis of the frameworks, shows how the choice was displayed in the media environment and what topics it raised. This diploma thesis deals with the process of the formation of the Latvian Citizenship Law in the context of European integration. The main aim of the thesis is to analyze the influence of European organization (primarily the Council of Europe, the European Union and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) on the law creation and the approval of its amendments. The aim of the study is also to analyze how the representatives of the Russian Federation influenced the process of law creation and its changes. Latvia was annexed by the Soviet Union in 1940, it remained its part until 1991. During the Soviet period, many Russian-speaking people moved to the territory of Latvia. Latvian citizenship law from 1994 was highly restrictive, it was based on the principle of legal continuity between interwar Latvia and restored Latvia after 1991. Therefore, the law only restored citizenship, which meant that only people who had been citizens before 1940 were granted automatic citizenship. Many inhabitants of restored Latvia, especially Russian speaking inhabitants, remained without citizenship. There was a possibility to acquire citizenship through the naturalization process, but the pace of the naturalization was too slow due to the system of so-called "naturalization windows". The presented work aims to map the trends in the development and professionalization of foundations on the background of the civil society that was formed in the Czech Republic after 1989. It addresses the importance of endowment and appreciation of foundation assets in the long-term perspective and describes the circumstances that led to the creation of the Foundation Investment Fund (NIF). It also tries to follow the legislative and economic conditions for the development of the Czech endowment sector. In this sense the paper aims to bring some contribution to the civil society studies. Through a case study on The Committee of Good Will - The Olga Havel Foundation the thesis deals with the causes, effects and changes of the foundation's professionalization process. The research uses the means of internal and external document analysis, interviews with the foundation representatives and the method of participating observation. The effects of the professionalization process have manifested in personnel management changes (eg. recruitment of paid employees, hiring external professionals), project management changes and overall change in the scope of the foundation's activities. The presented dissertation dealed with the process of forming the goverments on the regional level. On the example of the Czech Republic it analysed forming of the executive coalitions in the regions - the upper regionally autonomous units. The text is focused on four electoral periods: 2000-2004, 2008-2008, 2008-2012 and after the elections in 2012. The endeavour of the dissertation was to answer the question which factors are important for constitution of the governments on the regional level and what particularities belong to this process in comparison with the national level. On the level of the national governance the forming process of the government is compiled relatively extensively, however on the regional level, respectively sub-national level, the application of the theoretical information is difficult and the rules are not the same . The theoretical part is described in details. During the analysis it is necessary to bear in mind the theory of the second order elections. The electors prefer various political parties than in the first order election. The theories of games and racional choice are the second level of the theoretical base.
