Descreve uma pequena biografia de sua vida, delineada do ponto de vista do profissional (atividades de cunho acadêmico, político e administrativo) em detrimento do pessoal, visto as poucas informações que se foi permitido ter acesso. De sua produção científica, da qual listamos os artigos e obras ao qual foi possível ter acesso, optou-se, neste trabalho, por uma apreciação de sua tese de doutoramento intitulada Sobre as funcções de variaveis reaes, datada do ano de 1918 e defendida para obtenção do grau de doutor em Ciências Físicas e Matemáticas pela Escola Politécnica do Rio de Janeiro. O olhar dado ao tratamento do tema remeteu-se à História da Matemática nos âmbitos da Educação Matemática / Entering in the Mathematics and specifically focused on History of Mathematics in Brazil, with their characters and publications that possessed remarkable importance for the development of this science, this study has the objective to present the research on the engineer-mathematician Theodoro Augusto Ramos (1895-1935). Describes a short biography of his life, delineated from the standpoint of a professional (academic, political and administrative activities) to the detriment of staff, as the little information that was allow access. Of its scientific production, which listed the articles and works to which access was possible, it was decided in this work by an appreciation of his doctoral thesis entitled On the functions of variables reaes, dating from 1918 and defended for the degree of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences from the Polytechnic School of Rio de Janeiro. The look given to the treatment of the issue referred to the History of Mathematics in the fields of Mathematics Education
