Os dados meteorológicos foram obtidos através do Banco de Dados da Unidade Académica de Ciências Atmosféricas do Centro de Tecnologia e Recursos Naturais da Universidade Federal de Campina Grande e os dados da Bovinocultura foram obtidos por meio do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística, sendo os dados de Boa Vista-PB coletados no referido local. Os resultados encontrados revelaram que as condições climatológicas do Estado da Paraíba permitem a criação das raças bovinas Zebuínas e mestiças de Zebu, e em locais cujas temperaturas médias anuais sejam igual ou inferior a 22°C pode ser criadas e exploradas as raças Europeias e mestiças. De modo geral, houve diminuição do rebanho no estado da Paraíba no período de 1998-2003; a ordenha é muito variada, tanto no ponto de vista espacial como temporal, e a média diária da produção de leite no Estado da Paraíba, de acordo com os dados publicados pelo Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística, está bem abaixo da média a nível Nacional que é da ordem de 6,7 litros/dia, segundo as últimas informações. / The present work aimed to analyze and delimit cattle breeding in the State of Paraíba, as well as analyzing milk production on the basis of meteorological data, the or not of the bovine herd according to rainfall and number of herds, milked cows as well as milk production according to the studied period. The meteorological data were obtained through the Database of the Academic Unit of Atmospheric Sciences of the Center of Technology and Natural Resources of the Federal University of Campina Grande, and the data of the Bovinocultura were obtained through the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics. The results showed that the climatic conditions of the State of Paraíba allow the creation of Zebu breeds and mestizas of Zebu, and in places where average annual temperatures are equal to or less than 22 ° C, the European and mestizo breeds can be raised and exploited. In general, there was decrease of the herd in the state of Paraíba in the period 1998-2003; milking is very varied, both spatially and temporally, and the daily average of milk production in the State of Paraíba, according to data published by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, is well below the national average which is of the order of 6.7 liters / day, according to the latest information.
