The purpose of this research was to develop and test a group of predictors that could be used by fundraisers to determine potential corporate support for environmental and recreational programs. Local surveys were conducted to determine environmental and recreational needs for Cache Valley and twenty interviews were held with local corporate managers. The information gathered in these interviews and the literature review provided a list of approximately 20 variables which were narrowed down to 10 to predict both the potential for giving and the level of giving. A proposal for a youth training project was developed and local Forest Service personnel agreed to administer and supervise the program. The proposal was sent to the twenty corporations previously interviewed. Before asking them for a commitment, each corporation was rated on their potential for giving and level of giving. Results were analyzed using the Chi Square and Pearson coefficient and validated the hypothesis.

This study was undertaken to determine whether or not the secondary schools of Texas have recreational programs that measure up to accepted standard objectives. The activities within the recreation curriculum were measured to determine the value of each.

"It has been the purpose of this study to make an analysis of the recreational program at the Dallas County Juvenile Home...certain conclusions concerning the recreational program have been reached. 1. The principles upon which the recreational program is based are in line with the recommendations of the National Recreation Association. 2. In practice, recreation in the Dallas County Juvenile Home has not reached maximum efficiency. 3. The program is built largely to fill the needs of the majority of the boys who are detained at the home. 4. The program has been modified in some cases to meet the needs of the individual groups. 5. The recreation program serves as a means for the boys to express themselves; therefore, the supervisors and the case workers are able to establish better rapport with each boy. 5. The better rapport with each boy enables the case worker to determine the proper placement of the boy. 7. Through the efforts of recreation many personality adjustments have been made. 8. The study shows that the majority or 51 percent of the boys chose yard play as a first choice of activities offered at the home. 9. Because of the maintained interest of the entire staff to find and improve the defects of the program, recreation facilities have been expanded. 10. Inadequate funds limit the full use of the facilities at the home. "--leaf 67.

The purpose of this study was to show the growth and development of the recreation program for men and women in the North Texas State Teachers College from 1911 to 1939. This thesis has attempted to show in chronological order that the growth and development of the year-round recreation program at North Texas State Teachers College was a result of two underlying factors; leisure time, and the innate tendency of man to express his emotions through the avenue of play.
