No. of bitstreams: 1 2013_ChicoepabSuruí.pdf: 7141877 bytes, checksum: 7058d0aae3e6550118ba9b832be87341 (MD5) / O presente relatório apresenta os resultados de pesquisa realizada junto ao meu povo, Paiter Suruí, sobre o Projeto Pamine, um projeto que teve início em 2003 com o objetivo de reflorestar áreas degradadas e enriquecer áreas de floresta nativa da Terra Indígena Sete de Setembro, na fronteira dos estados de Rondônia e Mato Grosso. Pamine significa, na língua Paiter Suruí, renascer, o ato de refazer algo pela ação do homem. O nome foi escolhido para representar o processo de renascimento da floresta com a ajuda humana. Um renascimento não só das árvores plantadas pelo projeto, mas também da caça, das frutas, do meio ambiente, como era conhecido pelos Paiter Suruí, antes do desmatamento. A pesquisa teve como objetivo conhecer a percepção dos participantes do projeto Pamine sobre a importância do reflorestamento, as dificuldades enfrentadas e perspectivas futuras. A pesquisa também esteve atenta aos conflitos gerados na política interna dos Paiter Suruí, com críticas, resistências e ações contrárias ao projeto. As entrevistas realizadas com participantes do projeto revelam que o contato com a sociedade nacional trouxe grandes mudanças para vida dos Paiter Suruí. O fator principal da mudança foi o desmatamento, que trouxe a diminuição do território, inclusive extinguindo recursos naturais. Mas também mudou o uso da floresta entre os Paiter Suruí, pois a interação com a sociedade nacional levou à dependência econômica e, logo, à sua mercantilização, com o envolvimento dos Paiter Suruí na extração ilegal de madeira. Diante desse contexto, o reflorestamento tem permitido o resgate de outros sentidos atribuídos à floresta pelos Paiter Suruí e de sua importância para a saúde, a educação e a cultura, além de constituir-se em alternativa de renda, agora, em bases sustentáveis e de forma legal. _______________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This report presents the results of research carried out with my people, Paiter Suruí, about Pamine Project, a project that began in 2003 with the goal to reforest degraded areas and enrich native forest areas of Sete de Setembro Indigenous Land, between of the states Rondonia and Mato Grosso. Pamine means, in the language Paiter Suruí, reborn, the act of remaking something. The name was chosen to represent the process of rebirth of the forest with human help. A renaissance not only the trees planted by the project, but also hunting, the fruit, the environment, as it was known for the Paiter Suruí before of the deforestation. The research objective was to know the perception of Pamine project participants about the importance of reforestation, the difficulties encountered and future prospects. The research was also attentive to conflicts generated in the internal politics of the Paiter Suruí with criticism, resistance and actions against the project. The interviews with project participants shows that contact with the national society brought great changes to the lives of Paiter Suruí. The main factor of change was the deforestation, which led to the demise of the territory, including the natural resources extinction. But also changed the use of the forest by Paiter Suruí because the interaction with the national society caused to economic dependency and hence its commodification, with the involvement of the Paiter Suruí in illegal logging. In this context, reforestation has allowed the rescue of other meanings attributed to the forest by the Paiter Suruí and its importance to health, education and culture, as well as being in alternative income now and in a sustainable and the way legal.
