Tal pesquisa visou ampliar o conhecimento acerca desta institui??o educativa entrela?ando a participa??o de alguns sujeitos com a educa??o diamantinense no per?odo. O objetivo geral desta disserta??o ? compreender a implanta??o do Grupo Escolar em Diamantina no contexto da escolariza??o republicana a partir de 1907. Mais especificamente o de conhecer o processo de implanta??o do Grupo Escolar da cidade de Diamantina com seus m?ltiplos agentes e, identificar fontes documentais hist?ricas que contribuam para compreens?o da transi??o dos modelos educacionais ? ?poca A justificativa dessa pesquisa s?o os escassos estudos relativas a Hist?ria da Educa??o diamantinense ao final do s?culo XIX e in?cio do s?culo XX ou mesmo registros de mem?rias. Todavia, foi poss?vel verificar que h? um volume consider?vel de fontes prim?rias e secund?rias, que dizem respeito sobre a educa??o em Diamantina. Tais fontes documentais hist?ricas encontravam se dispersas em variados lugares na cidade e no Arquivo P?blico Mineiro em Belo Horizonte. A metodologia que foi utilizada ? a pesquisa documental, que se caracteriza por ser um caminho sistem?tico e reflexivo para conhecer uma dada realidade que, a princ?pio, utiliza-se de fontes prim?rias. No desenvolvimento do trabalho, as fontes foram divididas em categorias e demonstraram uma preciosa contribui??o para o entendimento da cultura escolar produzida em Diamantina. Os resultados obtidos nesta pesquisa t?m o objetivo de contribuir para o conhecimento da hist?ria da educa??o local. Programa de P?s-Gradua??o em Educa??o, Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, 2017. / This research presents information about the creation and reception of the first School Group of Diamantina, a city in the interior of Minas Gerais between the years of 1907 and 1911. This research aimed to broaden the knowledge about this educational institution by linking the participation of some subjects with education in the period. The general objective of this dissertation is to understand the implementation of the School Group in Diamantina in the context of republican schooling as of 1907. More specifically, to know the process of implementation of the School Group of the city of Diamantina with its multiple agents and to identify historical documentary sources which contribute to an understanding of the transition from educational models to the time. The justification for this research is the scarce studies on the History of Education in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century or even records of memories. However, it was possible to verify that there is a considerable volume of primary and secondary sources, which concern education in Diamantina. These historical documentary sources found themselves scattered in various places in the city and in the Minas Public Archive in Belo Horizonte. The methodology used was documental research, which is characterized as a systematic and reflexive way to know a given reality that, at first, is used from primary sources. In the development of the work, the sources were divided into categories and demonstrated a valuable contribution to the understanding of the school culture produced in Diamantina. The results obtained in this research aim to contribute to the knowledge of the history of local education. The totality of sources found may facilitate the work of new researches and raise future thematic ones about the primary education diamantinense.
