“Steel all Through” The Church of England in Central Queensland Transplantation and Adaptation 1892-1942

Philp, Robert Henry Haldon, randj@cqnet.com.au January 2002 (has links)
The thesis is concerned with the establishment of the Anglican presence in Central Queensland and the history of the first fifty years of the Diocese of Rockhampton. The historical method employed examined the attitudes and mentalities of the Anglicans during that fifty years and attempted to determine how the process of transplantation and adaptation of the English social institution was, or was not, achieved in the new physical and social environment. Various aspects of Anglican Diocesan administration such as recruitment of clergy, financial shortages, cultural isolation, racial issues, episcopal appointments and ecumenical relationships, are taken as units and analysed in the overall context of transplantation and adaptation. It is argued that ‘Australianisation’ came gradually and without conscious manipulation. Where change from the English model was attempted, it was often initiated by the English clergy rather than the Australian laity.

Velkostatek Konopiště v moderní době / The Konopiště Estate in the modern era

Tichá, Barbora January 2018 (has links)
Konopiště manor farm estate in a modern age thesis aims to analyse a legal dispute between Franz Ferdinand d'Este's children and Czechoslovakia. In 1900 Franz Ferdinand, successor to the Austrian throne, acknowledged his forthcoming marriage to countess Sophie Chotek would become unequal. As a part of the agreement, he consented that his wife and children would not inherit any property belonging to the House of Habsburg and they would also not be eligible successors to the throne. Consequently, a new house, called von Hohenberg, was established which Sophie, Franz Ferdinand's wife, and their descendants belonged to. Czechoslovakia was established after the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In August 1921, Czechoslovakian lawmakers published a specific law whose provisions were derived from the Treaty of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, signed on 10 September 1919. According to the Treaty, all property of the House of Habsburg was handed over to the newly established state without any compensation. While discussing the proposition in the Chamber of Deputies, deputy Theodor Bartošek came up with an addition, saying property of Franz Ferdinand's children was confiscated as well. An analysis of the Treaty of Saint-Germain-en-Laye and the 354/1921 law-making process is followed by a review of every...

Vavroušková, Kateřina January 2018 (has links)
The thesis deals with the integration of regional history into the teaching of history, concretely by teaching the regional history of the First and Second World War in the village Krucemburk and its surroundings. The primary objective of the thesis was to show the possibilities of using regional history in history lessons with the help of project education.
