The interest in studies related to economic growth isn’t recent, theoretical and empirical studies have analyzed the behavior of regional dynamics. In this study, we tested the hypothesis of income convergence through the traditional method and quantile regressions. Studying the case of Alagoas economy that is characterized by high concentration of productive activities in the coastal area and low human development indicators. With the purpose of checking the progress of GDPs per capita municipal Alagoas years 2002 to 2007, specifically examining whether in this period has been observed income distribution. The results showed that there is a process of income convergence in the long term and that the alagoanos municipalities variables related to physical capital, education and health are important to reduce inequalities in the state. It was clear also that the conditional convergence is more than absolute and that income convergence is a local phenomenon and not global. / O interesse por temas relacionados ao crescimento econômico não é recente, estudos teóricos e empíricos têm analisado o comportamento das dinâmicas regionais. Nesse trabalho, testamos as hipóteses de convergência de renda por meio da metodologia tradicional e regressões quantílicas. Estudando o caso da economia de Alagoas que é caracterizada por alta concentração das atividades produtivas na área litorânea e baixos indicadores de desenvolvimento humano. Tendo o propósito de verificar a evolução dos PIBs per capita municipais de Alagoas nos anos de 2002 a 2007; mais especificamente analisar se nesse período tem-se constatado desconcentração da renda. Os resultados apontaram que há um processo de convergência de renda em longo prazo nos municípios alagoanos e que variáveis relacionadas ao capital físico, educação e saúde, são importantes para diminuir as desigualdades no Estado. Evidenciou-se também, que a convergência condicional é superior à absoluta e que a convergência de renda é um fenômeno local e não global.
