Transformace v terciárním sektoru v České republice v období 1989-1997/1998 / The transformation in tertiary sector in Czech Republic between 1989/1997/1998

Knobová, Lucie January 2015 (has links)
The diploma thesis analyzes the transformation process of tertiary sector in Czechoslovakia; respectively in Czech Republic between 1989-1997/98 by analyzing the condition of this sector before 1989. The limitation is given by collapse of centrally planned economy and the economic crisis in 1997. The main objective is to idnetify and explain the profound changes in Czechoslovak, respectively Czech tertiary sector; focusing on media sector. In this thesis I will examine whether, in the period of transformation after 1989, was more successful public entity Czech television or private commercial TV Nova. I will support this analysis by research in practical part; where I will evaluate economic development, own functioning and views on both types of televisions.

„Až příliš sametová revoluce". Analýza neúspěchu řešení romské problematiky 1948-2012. / "Way too velvet revolution." The analysis of failure in facing the Roma community issue between 1948 and 2012

Poprik, Anton January 2012 (has links)
The diploma thesis "Way too velvet revolution." The analysis of failure in facing the Roma community issue between 1948 and 2012 tries to clarify the causes of failure in facing Romani people issue in the Czech Republic, considering period of the last sixty years and two political regimes - former communism and latter democracy, putting great emphasis on the aspect of bureaucracy. The very first part outlines current problematic issues and the way they are solved by activities of the Czech public administration bodies. The second part focuses on the issue itself and its shape from its beginning in the second half of the 40's, describes crucial approaches of the communistic regime and their success; this is followed by a completely different point of view in the 90's, in the system of democracy. The institutional system analysis in the last part of the thesis discovers the causes of the long-term failure of both political regimes when trying to face the Roma community issue and proves that the causes of the mentioned failures before and after 1989, as far as bureaucratic point of view is concerned, differ less than expected. Using published archival materials and individual studies as well as official up-to-date sources discovers the existence of state interest cyclicality together with inappropriate institutional layout that makes any successful policy implementation impossible, regardless of political regime.

Czechoslovakia's Fortifications: Their Development and Impact on Czech and German Confrontation

Walvoord, Kreg A. (Kreg Anthony) 05 1900 (has links)
During the 1930s, the Republic of Czechoslovakia endeavored to construct a system of modern fortifications along its frontiers to protect the Republic from German and Hungarian aggression and from external Versailles revisionism. Czechoslovakia's fortifications have been greatly misrepresented through comparison with the Maginot Line. By utilizing extant German military reports, this thesis demonstrates that Czechoslovakia's fortifications were incomplete and were much weaker than the Maginot Line at the time of the Munich Crisis in 1938. The German threat of war against Czechoslovakia was very real in 1938 and Germany would have penetrated most of the fortifications and defeated Czechoslovakia quickly had a German-Czech war occurred in 1938.

The Democratic Transition of Czechoslovakia, the German Democratic Republic and their Successor States, with Particular Focus on the Geopolitical Framework after 1989

Holtschke, Eric January 2014 (has links)
(by Eric Holtschke) The end of the Cold War and thus the collapse of the Eastern Bloc was, in the words of Mary Farrell, "one of the late twentieth century's defining moments"1 : Communist rule in Central and Eastern Europe collapsed, opening up the road to democracy together with freedom of speech, freedom of thought and free elections, as well as free and independent movement of people. The end of the Cold War, which started as a direct result of the Second World War, came about by means of mass demonstrations, the first of which took place in Plauen (GDR) on 7 October 1989. Only a few months later, no-one could be sure how the world would develop. The so-called 'voice' was followed by 'exit' in the German Democratic Republic - and the Czechoslovakians were close to the events taking place in the embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Prague. The end of the autocratic system was followed by the process of democratisation, characterised by upheavals and the restructuring of political conditions. Free and independent elections marked the end of democratisation in both the German Democratic Republic and Czechoslovakia. The consolidation period was determined by the dissolution of both of the aforementioned countries, succeeded by 1) the absorption of the entirety of former East German...

The period is divided into two stages. The first, 1933 to March 15, 1939 and the second, March 16, 1939 to May 1945, when the end of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia was proclaimed. Historical events determined the path of Czech cinematography and later protectoral cinematography (Slovak cinematography was not developed at the time). These events are specified in the thesis as well as the Czech film industry in terms of local and foreign production, distribution, film - makers and organizations. A lot of news from Czech lands was published in the German press due to close connections between Czech and German cinematography which was only further interconnected after the formation of the Protectorate. The analytical portion comprises a historical comparison of texts from daily Der Film - Kurier, weekly Der Film and monthly Der deutsche Film. The articles are divided according to their topics and compared with each other in concurrent periods. The character and impletion was changed by...
