This paper aims to interpret the social-spatial perceptions of individuals from the memories of those who live directly or indirectly in the remaining space of the "factory-city" in Rio Largo, Alagoas, reconstituting its recollected history. Today, in another context, it is no longer "textile", although it still has an urban design composed almost entirely of architectural arrangements that used to exist in the form of factories, office buildings, train stations, educational buildings and cultural projects, churches and other buildings related to manufacturing activities, as well as housing workers and public space arrangements. This study reviews historiographical references, uses prepositions of Oral History, individual and collective memory, and mental proxemy maps and discourse analysis, as well as the concepts of Foucault on power and power relations, which chain together means for understanding and reflecting on the physical place and the users in their historical paths. The methodology of this study was anchored in the implementation of Oral History and the making of mind maps from applied field research with approach techniques and the choice of the subjects of the space, making in total approximately thirty interviewees and makers of mind maps, who provided psychological and spatialized reports and references that guide the reflections in this study. Today, the architectural arrangement of that place still reflects the dominance of the social and spatial relationships from the "textile" that make up the site and still do. Despite such evident marks of the power relations nurtured in that place, our data analysis spotted a certain pattern of dissatisfaction in living there, which is surprising due to how those relations represent the dynamics of the past. / Este trabalho tem como objetivo interpretar as apreensões socioespaciais de indivíduos a partir das lembranças de quem convive direta ou indiretamente no espaço remanescente da “cidade-fábrica” de Rio Largo, em Alagoas, reconstituindo sua história rememorada. Atualmente em outro cotidiano, não está mais “têxtil”, porém com um desenho urbano composto em sua totalidade do arranjo arquitetônico outrora composto pelas fábricas, edifício administrativo, estações de trem, edifícios de cunho educativo e cultural, igrejas e demais edificações vinculadas ás atividades fabris, habitações dos operários e arranjos espaciais públicos. Para isso, o trabalho revisa as referências historiográficas, utiliza preposições da História Oral, memória individual e coletiva, proxemia e mapa mental e análise do discurso, como também os conceitos de Foucault de poder e relações de poder, os quais encadeiam meios para compreensão e reflexão do local e dos usuários em seus percursos históricos vividos. O instrumental metodológico se construiu ancorado à História Oral e da confecção de mapas mentais a partir de pesquisa de campo aplicadas através de técnicas de abordagem, além da escolha dos sujeitos do espaço, que totalizaram aproximadamente trinta depoentes e confeccionadores de mapas, provindo deles os relatos e referências psíquico-espacializadas balizadoras das reflexões deste estudo. O arranjo arquitetônico da atualidade espelha ainda a dominância das relações sociais e espaciais “têsteis” que perfizeram e perfazem o local. Apesar de tão evidentes marcas da relação de poder que gestou todo o espaço construído, verifica-se na análise dos dados um certo padrão de insatisfações de convivência com esse meio, que surpreendem pelo que suas relações representam de dinamismo no passado.
