iv Summary Schmidt hammer is the instrument which is used for the assessment of rock mechanical properties and this instrument is classified as the indirect method. This method is based on the assessment of rebound value (R) of the Schmidt hammer, which is measurred by the amount of rebound of the impact plunger from the surface of tested rock. Schmidt hammer is called as the non-destructive method of rock assessment and it is called as in situ testing method as well. The main objective of this work is provement, that Schmidt hammer testing is destructive method and define degree of damage which is caused in the rock mass. Sedimentary rocks were used for the testing, mostly sandstones and arkose sandstones with different types of cement. This made it possible to test the fraction of the rock mass and the relation between fraction and type of cement. The clasts of the rocks had different properties than it was possible to find the relation between grain size and fraction of the rock. Already in procedure of the testing by Schmidt hammer it was obvious, that this metod is definitely destructive. Rock surface after hitting by plunger of Schmidt hammer gains macroscopically observeable destruction. On the surface is the circular track of the plunger and the surface is grinded. The Application of Step-Drawdown Pumping Tests for Determining Well Losses in Consolidated Rock Aquifers

From the Proceedings of the 1975 Meetings of the Arizona Section - American Water Resources Assn. and the Hydrology Section - Arizona Academy of Science - April 11-12, 1975, Tempe, Arizona / The concept of a step -drawdown test was first introduced by Jacob, and further modifications in the technique were made by Rorabaugh. Analysis of step -drawdown test data enables the quantification of the components of drawdown due to formation or aquifer loss, and due to well losses in a pumped well. This technique has been used to test approximately 100 wells that were drilled in crystalline and basalt formations in central India. Test data have been analyzed by Rorabaugh's method and by a graphical method, and the results of a number of tests are presented and discussed. Anomalies in the test analysis often proved helpful for interpreting aquifer irregularities. In general, the well loss constant decreases with an increase in specific capacity and the aquifer loss constant decreases with increasing transmissivity. Significant reductions in specific capacity during a step test occur in wells with high well losses. An attempt is made to quantify the well losses in a consolidated rock well, and a number of practical applications of step -drawdown tests are discussed.

[pt] A microtomografia computadorizada de uma amostra de rocha possibilita uma caracterização do meio poroso e pode ser utilizada para estimar propriedades da rocha em macroescala, isto é, em escala de reservatório. Métodos baseados em mapas de distâncias e em algoritmos de erosão são as principais abordagens utilizadas para extração de uma rede de poros e gargantas a partir de imagens microtomográficas de rocha. Este trabalho propõe um método híbrido para a construção da rede, de modo que, durante o processo de modelagem na escala de poros, obtemos um esqueleto do espaço poroso por meio de um algoritmo de erosão e utilizamos um mapa de distâncias para construir uma rede de poros e gargantas. A determinação dos poros e gargantas a partir do esqueleto adota uma abordagem não-determinística possibilitando a geração de múltiplas redes com configurações distintas a partir de um mesmo esqueleto. Avaliamos a variabilidade dos cenários gerados e comparamos as estimativas para as propriedades petrofísicas com as obtidas pelo método de Bolas Máximas por meio dos resultados de uma simulação de fluxo monofásica na rede. / [en] Computerized microtomography of a rock sample enables a characterization of the porous medium and can be used to estimate rock properties at the macro-scale, i.e., reservoir-scale. Methods based on distance maps and thinning algorithms are the main approaches used for extracting a pore and throats network from microtomographic rock images. This paper proposes a hybrid method for constructing the network. So that during the pore-scale modeling process, we obtain a skeleton of the pore space by using a thinning algorithm and a distance map to build a network of pores and throats. The determination of pores and throats from the skeleton assumes a non-deterministic approach enabling the generation of multiple networks with distinct configurations from the same skeleton. We evaluate the variability of the generated scenarios and compare the estimates for the petrophysical properties with those obtained by the Maximum Ball Method through the results of a single-phase flow simulation on the network.
