No. of bitstreams: 1 Sgarbieri_AstridNilsson_M.pdf: 3485571 bytes, checksum: 3f9bd09848e582d0587ad156c41b1212 (MD5) Previous issue date: 1989 / Resumo: Este trabalho visa a identificar aspectos específicos de interações diádicas transculturais chefe-secretária que ocorrem em ambiente profissional, no momento do despacho dos compromiSsos da agenda, e levantar que aspectos dessas lnterações são privilegiados no material didático em uso no componente oral do curso de Bacharelado em Língua Inglesa, modalidade Secretariado-Bilíngue da PUCCAMP. Os dados que compõem o corpus deste trabalho foram coletados no Brasil em indústrias multinacionais na região de Campinas sendo o chefe falante nativo e a secretária falante de Inglês como língua estrangeira, e nos Estados Unidos em indÚstrias e Universidade americanas na região de Los Angeles, California. A análise dos dados apontou a assimetria como característica comum neste tipo de interação nos dois países sendo, porém, mais acentuada e marcada no Brasil. A participação ativa indicando um entrosamento sincronizado chefe-secretária e consequente desempenho eficaz e eficiente por parte da Última mencionada pode ser ressaltado como característica nas gravações feitas nos Estados Unidos. O material didático em uso no curso em questão não privilegia os aspectos de uma interação diádica transcultural assimétrica analisados neste trabalho, apontando para uma lacuna entre a realidade profissional das secretárias e o atual componente oral do curso. Sugerimos o preenchimento dessa lacuna através de discussões de tópicos sobre relações assimétricas pela audição ativa das fitas que compõem o corpus deste trabalho, pela apresentação e discussão de filmes de vídeo cassette que tratam do assunto, e finalmente por simulação de situações profissionais específicas. Os subsídios propostos neste trabalho visam ao enriquecimento do planejamento do componente oral do curso de Bacharelado em Língua Inglêsa Modalidade Secretariado-bilíngue e consequente adequação às especificidades do mercado de trabalho onde as profissionais irão atuar / Abstract: This study attempts to identify some specific aspects of dyadic cross-cultural interactions which occur in offices between bosses and secretaries while discussing the agenda. It also aims at identifying which aspects of such interactions are emphasized in the textbooks being used for teaching the oral aspect of English in the Secretarial course at PUCCAMP. The data used for this research were recorded in two situations: multinational industries of the Campinas area where the bosses were native speakers and the secretaries had learned English as a foreign language - and in industries and a university in California, USA. The results confirmed that allhough in both countries this type of inleraction is asymmetric, in Brazil the asymmetry is more pronounced than in the USA. The recordings also showed that secretaries in the USA participate actively in decision-taking with their bosses. This fact could not be noticed in the Brazilian interactions. The textbooks being used in the secretarlal course do not emphasize aspects of dyadic asymmelric cross-cultural inleraction. Such fact points to a gap between the real profissional enviromment where the secretaries will perform and what is being taught in the, oral practice classes. We suggest, therefore, that such a gap the fulfilled by means of discussions, with the students, about asymmetric relationships alming at their awareness of such a fact: by actively listening to the recordings done for this study: by showing and dlscussing video cassette movies dealing with this subject and also by simulations, in the classroom, of specific professional situations.
