The new necessities lead to an overload in the family dynamic, implying, as consequence, the service transfer to a chain of specialized support, such as the long permanence institutions (ILPI). The proposal of this study is to approach the systematization of the psycho-gerontological service developed in an institution between 1993 and 2009. It intends to show that the individual care to each senior and respective family promotes respect to the subjetification process in the old age. Moreover, the construction inside the institutional collective enables delicate transferences, in other words, the comfort, the respect, the preservation of autonomy and independency propitiate dignity and sense of belonging. The psycho-gerontological interventions, in its turn, focus on giving a new meaning for life, improving the crossgenerational relationships and strengthening the interdisciplinary team s work.It equally discusses the importance of the psycho-gerontological management services, that is to prioritize the specific competencies for the problems solution analysis in ILPI, always having as a goal, the humanization of the services in the care of the seniors, the family and the employees. It also aims to contribute to the improvement of quality of life of seniors, family's welfare and employees' satisfaction and, finally, it seeks to develop integrated work bearing in mind the contemporary needs of the elderly / O aumento da população idosa brasileira e a longevidade, maior conquista social do século XX, fizeram emergir questões relativas aos cuidados de idosos. As novas necessidades acarretaram sobrecarga à dinâmica familiar, implicando, como consequência, a transferência dos serviços a uma rede de apoio especializada, como as instituições de longa permanência (ILPI). Este trabalho tem como objetivo tratar da sistematização de serviços psicogerontológicos desenvolvidos durante o período de 1993 até 2009 em uma instituição. Pretende demonstrar que o cuidado singular a cada idoso e respectiva família promove respeito ao processo de subjetivação na velhice. Além disso, a construção dentro do coletivo institucional possibilita delicadas transferências, ou seja, o aconchego, o respeito, a preservação da autonomia e da independência propiciam dignidade e sensação de pertencimento. As intervenções psicogerontológicas, por sua vez, visam dar um novo sentido à vida, melhorando os relacionamentos intergeracionais e fortalecendo o trabalho de equipe interdisciplinar. Aborda-se, igualmente, a importância da gestão em serviços psicogerontológicos que é priorizar as competências específicas para a análise da solução de problemas na ILPI, tendo sempre como meta a humanização dos serviços no cuidado ao idoso, aos familiares e aos funcionários. Visa também contribuir para melhoria da qualidade de vida do idoso, do bem-estar da família e satisfação dos funcionários e, finalmente, procura desenvolver um trabalho integrado levando em conta as necessidades contemporâneas dos velhos
