Efficiency in Shared Services / Efficiency in Shared Services Organizations

The thesis describes and analyzes shared services organizations as a management tool to achieve efficiency in the organizations' processes. Paper builds on established theoretical principles, enhance them with up-to-date insights on the current situation and development and create a valuable knowledge base on shared services organizations. Strong emphasis is put on concrete means on how exactly efficiency could be achieved. Major relevant topics such as reasons for shared services, people management, performance measurement, enabling technology, risks and so on are thoroughly covered. To demonstrate outlined principles a practical part at the end (in cooperation with Henkel AG, Germany) introduces a concrete controlling process and its possibility to be shifted into shared services center.

METODOLOGIA DE GERENCIAMENTO DO PROCESSO DE SERVIÇOS EM MICRO E PEQUENAS EMPRESAS DA REGIÃO CENTRAL DO RIO GRANDE DO SUL BR / METHODOLOGY TO MANAGEMENT PROCESS OF SERVICES IN MICRO AND SMALL COMPANIES OF THE CENTRAL AREA OF RIO GRANDE DO SUL - BR

The present study presents a model to management process of services in micro and small companies - MPEs, of the central area of Rio Grande do Sul. MPEs, object of this study, were in number of forty three (43) active companies in section services,that were part of the Program of Business Extension, in the period understood between 2004 and 2005. For the accomplishment of the research, it was used data collected by technical consultants of the business extension, which data were obtained through interviews with entrepreneurs and logged in a checklist. After, they were analyzed through statistics programs, when there was the crossing data, in order to have a perfected analysis, and finally the presentation of the proposed model, that for its simplicity, it is only destined to MPEs. The data analysis took to the conclusion that most of MPEs that render services don't elaborate plans in order to develop new services or looking for to reach new customers, and due to that they stagnate in the market, coming, later, dying. It was noticed that most of MPEs don't possess procedures and operational instructions for services execution, what turns more challenging the establishment of patterns in the offered services. Finally, MPEs demonstrate real need of a more efficient control in what concerns development and execution of the rendered services, in a way to guarantee the maintenance, recruiting of new services and execute services intending to satisfy customer's demands. / O presente estudo apresenta um modelo de gerenciamento do processo de serviços em micro e pequenas empresas - MPEs, da região central do Rio Grande do Sul. As MPEs, objeto deste estudo, foram em número de quarenta e três (43) empresas atuantes no setor de serviços, que fizeram parte do Programa de Extensão Empresarial, no período compreendido entre 2004 e 2005. Para a realização da pesquisa, utilizou-se dados coletados por consultores técnicos da extensão empresarial, os quais foram obtidos através de entrevistas com empresários e anotados em um check-list. Logo após, foram analisados, através de programas de estatística, quando houve o cruzamento dos dados, seguido de acurada análise, e, finalmente a apresentação do modelo proposto, que, por sua simplicidade, é destinado somente às MPEs. A análise dos dados levou à conclusão de que a maioria das MPEs, prestadoras de serviços, não elaboram planos, quer para desenvolvimento de novos serviços, quer buscando atingir novos clientes, e, devido a isso, ficam estagnadas, no mercado, vindo, posteriormente, a morrerem. Percebeu-se, também, que a maioria das MPEs não possui procedimentos e instruções operacionais, para execução dos serviços, o que torna mais desafiador o estabelecimento de padrões nos serviços oferecidos. Concluiu-se, ao final, que as MPEs demonstram a real necessidade de um controle mais eficiente, no que diz respeito ao desenvolvimento e execução dos serviços prestados, de forma a garantirem a manutenção e contratação de novos serviços e executarem os serviços de forma a satisfazerem as exigências do cliente.

The main goal of this Master's Thesis is to form marketing recommendations for maternity hospitals. These marketing recommendations are in the form of marketing mixes, that are designed for individual revealed segments. The theoretical part of my Master's Thesis contains the reason why the maternity hospitals should implement marketing in the present day. Further goal of the theoretical part is to explain why I apply to the area of obstetrics the marketing of services. Further the theoretical part describes specifics of marketing of services, segmentation process, targeting and positioning. There is stated characteristics of the marketing mix in the area of services at the end of the theoretical part. The analytical part is based on written questionnaires inquiry. On the basis of results of questionnaires inquiry is carried out the process of segmentation using statistical programme IBM SPSS Statistics version 21.0. The result of segmentation process is discovering three market segments. These segments show similar characteristics. There is determined attractiveness of revealed segments in the chapter dealing with targeting. Marketing recommendations describe the value of providing services. Marketing recommendations are supplemented with social status of respondents.
