The silvopastoral systems(SPS) are an important option to use the soil for capturing soil C and N and the recovery of degraded areas, but there is still scarcity of quantitative data. The objective was to determine the contribution of trees in pastures with trees on fractions of the organic matter and soil chemical properties. The study was carried out in pastures with native trees, pastures in full sun without trees and native forests that were selected in three properties in Divino-MG, Zona da Mata, Atlantic Forest biome. In thoseproperties dominated graminaceous pastures of the Brachiaria grasses group and various tree species. These were the tree selected: Erythrina falcata, Machaerium stipitatum and Myroxylon peruiferum in the silvopastoral system 1 (SPS1); Machaerium nyctitans, Zeyheria tuberculosa and Tabebuia alba in the SPS2; Dalbergia nigra, Sparattoperma leucanthum and Senna macranthera in SPS3. In those areas, collections of soil were made in the depths of 0-10, 10-30 and 30-50 cm in which were determined the total organic C, total N, C and N labile, C and N microbial biomass, active and potential acidity, available P and K, exchangeable Ca2+ and Mg2+, polysaccharides, lipids and polyphenols. The soils of the silvipastoris systems showed stocks of C above the pastures to full sun(73,86 Mg ha-1 ; 103,62 Mg ha-1 ; 137,5 Mg ha-1, respectively) and intermediaries in relation to native forest(148,62 Mg ha-1; 190,22 Mg ha-1 ; 177,45 Mg ha-1, respectively) at 0-50 cm depth, being greater in SSP1and SSP2, SSP3. All trees contributed in different ways to improve soil quality, while some were more important to increase the availability of nutrients, other contributed more to the dynamics of organic matter.
