Orientador: Antonio Nivaldo Hespanhol / Resumo: A construção do espaço no Extremo Noroeste Paulista foi consubstanciado desde início do século XIX, perante ação de diversos atores sociais, dentre eles vários pequenos posseiros, ocupante, grileiros, companhia colonizadora e, principalmente, os pequenos produtores rurais. A ação destes últimos foram fundamentais para a consolidação da frente pioneira, e para a reorganização estrutural produtiva agrícola, baseado na produção do café. Dessa forma, procurou-se analisar a trajetória da cafeicultura nessa região desde a década de 1940 até o final da década de 1990. No caminho percorrido, foi necessário analisar a origem dos produtores rurais de café da região, e quais as técnicas por eles utilizadas; analisar e compreender quais os fatores que levaram à diminuição da lavoura cafeeira depois de meados da década de 1980; como os produtores de café se estruturaram depois da crise no setor e; compreender a importância da atividade para a região e para o Estado. / Abstract: The construction of space in the Paulista Northwest Far was co-nourish since beginning of the nineteenth century, in front of action of several social factors, among them, many little leaseholders, occupiers, people whose take possession of other lands, setter companies and, mainly, the small rural producers. The actions of these last ones were fundamental to the pioneer forehead consolidation, and also to the productive structural reorganization agricultural, based in the coffee growing in this region since 40's up to the end 90's. In the traveled way, it was also necessary to analyze the origin of the coffee rural producers in the region, and what was the technique that were used by them; to analyze and understand what was the factors that led to the decrease of coffee plantation after the middle 80's; how the coffee producers structured themselves after section crisis and; to understand the importance of activity for the region and also for the whole State. / Mestre
