A Workflow Based Online Software Review System

Cifci, Hasan 01 July 2004 (has links) (PDF)
Software review is an effective and efficient way for detecting defects in software artifacts. To improve the effectiveness and the efficiency of software review, a variety of software review techniques have been developed. Furthermore, computer support has been used to facilitate the software review process. Accordingly, several software review tools have been developed. Although existing tools provide new solutions to support software review, in general they suffer from a number of shortcomings. In this study, a brief description about major software review techniques is given along with the summary of the process. Additionally, existing tools and their features are briefly explained and a comparison between them is done. This study focuses on the development of a Web based review tool that has a workflow definition capability in order to support every kind of software review processes.

Também foram revistos os autores do Lean Thinking e do Lean Software Development / Abstract: The technology information (IT) industry has been facing challenges common to any other industry type. Challenges as: achieve good productive level; understand the client need; pressure for cost reductions; and innovation. IT has been searching for solution to address these challenges, sometimes creating own methods and practices, and sometimes, bringing them from other type of industries. The Lean has showed clear benefits and introduced a new standard to the automobile industry and manufacture type of business. Mass production standards were challenged by Lean creating new ways of dealing with quality and productivity. Lean has been positioned as an important alternative to deal with waste, to increate quality and expand long term profitability. The term Lean IT is used on application of Lean to address IT industry challenges, and Lean Software Development the application of lean at software development industry. The research reviews a leanness assessment tool adapted for software industry, developing an adaptation for the application at Brazil software industry. A procedure of application was created and the tool was applied at three different Software companies (enterprises). The results showed that the tool to evaluate leanness at software is applicable at the selected companies, adjustments were need and further studies are required. Lean thinking and Lean Software Development authors were also reviewed by this research work / Mestrado / Tecnologia e Inovação / Mestre em Tecnologia

No. of bitstreams: 1 DissKBRS.pdf: 617246 bytes, checksum: 9436ee8984a49f5df072023b717747c6 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2006-02-24 / In this work we present the methodology of capture-recapture, under the classic and bayesian approach, to estimate the number of errors of software through inspection by distinct reviewers. We present the general statistical model considering independence among errors and among reviewers and consider the particular cases of equally detectable errors (homogeneous) and reviewers not equally e¢ cient (heterogeneous) and of errors not equally detectable (heterogeneous) and equally e¢ cient reviewers (homogeneous). After that, under the assumption of independence and heterogeneity among errors and independence and homogeneity among reviwers, we supposed that the heterogeneity of the errors was expressed by a classification of these in easy and di¢ cult of detecting, admitting known the probabilities of detection of an easy error and of a di¢ cult error. Finally, under the hypothesis of independence and homogeneity among errors, we presented a new model considering heterogeneity and dependence among reviewers. Besides, we presented examples with simulate and real data.
