Un spectromètre infrarouge évacué a été construit. Des spectres indiquant un pouvoir de résolution de 0.033 cm -1 ont été enregistrés par l'appareil. L'instrument a été conçu autour d'un monochromateur LITTROW-McCUBBIN de 2.5 mètres dont le domaine effectif s'étend de 1 à 40 microns. La construction, l'opération et la performance de l'instrument sont décrites.
