Záměrem této práce je uvést čtenáře do problematiky ladění a optimalizace výkonu relačních databázových systémů. Zájemci se dostane jak souhrnných teoretických informací nutných k pochopení této problematiky, tak ukázky postupů a ladících aktivit použitelných v praxi. První dvě kapitoly se zaměřují a teoreticky rozebírají některé faktory, jenž mohou ovlivňovat výkonnost databázových systémů. Důraz je kladen zejména na ty faktory, které mají obvykle na výkonnost databáze největší vliv. V dalších dvou kapitolách jsou následně popisovány, demonstrovány a zhodnoceny existující a běžně dostupné ladící postupy a návody. Jde zejména o materiály poskytované významnými výrobci databázových systémů. Vyústěním všech těchto částí je stanovení metodiky pro ladění relačních databázových systémů, jakožto hlavního cíle diplomové práce. Ta vychází jak z teoretických a praktických zkušeností, které autor získal během psaní této práce, tak z několikaleté praxe v oboru. Metodika je zaznamenána formou znalostních objektů, což jí činí dále rozšiřitelnou a rovněž i snadno pochopitelnou pro okruh jejích možných uživatelů.

Injection attacks are the top two causes of software errors and vulnerabilities, according to the MITRE Common Vulnerabilities list [1]. This thesis presents a threat analysis of injection attacks on applications built for Android, a popular but not rigorously studied operating system designed for mobile devices. The following thesis is argued: Injection attacks are possible on off-the-shelf Android systems, and such attacks have the capacity to compromise the device through resource denial and leaking private data. Specifically, we demonstrate that injection attacks are possible through the OS shell and through the SQLite API. To mitigate these attacks, we augment the Android OS with a taint-tracking mechanism to monitor the flow of untrusted character strings through application execution. We use this taint information to implement a mechanism to detect and prevent these injection attacks. A good denition of an attack being critical to preventing it, our mechanism is based on Ray and Ligatti's formalized “NIE" property, which states that untrusted inputs must only insert or expand noncode tokens in output programs. If this property is violated, an injection attack has occurred. This definition's detection algorithm, in combination with our taint tracker, allow our mechanism to defend against these attacks.

<p>Berghs Företagshotell i Ockelbo hyr bland annat ut övernattningsrum och lägenheter likt ett vandrarhem. Problemet är att de använder sig av ett enkelt ”excel-ark” och enstaka ”post-it” lappar för att hålla koll på sina bokningar och är i behov av ett bättre system. Ägaren har länge funderat på att ordna detta själv då han har gott om databas- och programmeringskunskaper, men precis som alla andra småföretagare har han tyvärr för lite tid. Av den anledningen tyckte vi att detta skulle vara ett perfekt examensarbete för oss. Vi skapar helt enkelt ett webbaserat bokningssystem med en applikation att knyta till hotellets befintliga webbplats. Till detta skapar vi även en ett administrationsgränssnitt där all hantering av bokningar och rum sker. Som databashanterare använder vi oss av MS SQL Server 2000 med lagrade procedurer och som utvecklingsmiljö väljer vi MS Visual Studio.NET 2003 vilket resulterat i ett antal ASP.NET webbformulär. Till skillnad från traditionella hotell (där de flesta rum ser likadana ut) kan man här iordningställa rum och lägenheter helt efter kundens behov. Detta beror på att hotellet ligger i en f.d. hyresfastighet med 14 lägenheter, där varje lägenhet lätt kan bli uppdelade i ett antal rum. Detta flexibla system överförde vi till datorn på så vis att man får ”bygga” och ”bygga om” lägenheterna till bokningsbara rum direkt i applikationen. Det finns också en funktion som ”döljer” rummet i databasen, vilket kan komma till nytta eftersom han även kan hyra ut rummen som kontor. Rummen blir på så vis inte bokningsbara i hotellverksamheten.</p>

This exam paper has been made with the health care center Aroma in Vetlanda. The work was to deliver a complete web portal with an integrated booking system. The objectives were to provide a complete informative website for Aromas users with the option to make an appointment for a vaccination or health certificate, order prescriptions and get update information directly published by Aromas staff. And to give the staff of Aroma a graphical Web interface to manage the content and the booking system.The report goes through the basic language used and why. Further it takes up it how works and how the final product looks and behaves. / Detta examensarbete har gjorts med Vårdcentralen Aroma i Vetlanda.  Arbetet gick ut på att leverera en komplett webbportal med integrerat bokningssystem. Målen var att kunna leverera en informativ webbplats för Aromas användare med möjlighet att boka tid vaccinationer och intyg, beställa recept och ta del av nyheter direkt publicerade av deras personal. Samt att ge personalen ett grafiskt webbgränssnitt för att hantera allt innehåll och bokningssystemet.   Rapporten går grundläggande igenom vilka språk som använts och varför. Vidare redogörs hur arbetet har utförts och hur den slutliga produkten ser ut och fungerar.

<p>När ett nytt databassystem ska tas fram och införas i en organisation ska funktioner och krav på systemet identifieras och analyseras i en designprocess. Ett krav på ett databassystem kan vara att systemet ska uppvisa en viss prestanda. Designprocessen leder så småningom fram till fysisk design av databasen och dess applikationer. Det kan finnas flera olika lösningar för fysisk design av databasen och dess applikationer som tillgodoser kraven och funktionerna som ska finnas i systemet. Dessa olika lösningsalternativ ger olika prestanda. Detta arbete ger en inblick i att fysisk design av en databas och dess applikationer påverkar prestanda och att det finns strategier för när olika lösningar kan vara lämpliga att använda för prestandaoptimering.</p><p>Nyckelord: Fysisk design, SQL, index, trigger, lagrad procedur, denormalisering.</p>

<p>o aid the software and database developer in the development process, specialised software is needed, known as CASE-tools. To form a productive work environment, multiple CASE-tools should be able to cooperate with each other, as it is likely that a single tool cannot give full support for the whole development process. An aid in the integration of tools is that information is stored in a central repository, available for any tool that needs it. A problem which arises is that not all tools are capable of directly accesing the contents of the repository. Thus export procedures are needed that transforms the repository contents into a format that an external tool can read and understand. If these transformation procedures are specified directly in the implementation language, modification can be difficult or even impossible.</p><p>This work proposes a general transformation model for storing rules in a repository. These rules operate on the information in a source model and transform it to a textual representation ready for export to external tools. An example ruleset is given that transforms an example relational model into SQL code.</p>

<p>Syftet med arbetet som beskrivs i denna rapport var att undersöka om den Oracle-baserade laborationsmiljö som användes hos ADIT gick att överföra till MySQL. Oracle är ett komplext system som är krävande att administrera, något som ADIT ansvarat för med egen personal och egen hårdvara och detta var inte idealiskt. I kombination med ett stort intresse från studenter att använda just MySQL vid laborationer hos ADIT beslutades det att man skulle undersöka om MySQL nu var moget att axla den roll som Oracle tidigare haft. Utifrån detta går rapporten igenom vad som behövde göras med det befintliga laborationsmaterialet. En introduktion till relations¬modellen och SQL samt förklaringar av skillnader i features mellan Oracle och MySQL som hade betydelse för laborationerna återfinns också. Det visade sig att överföringen var enkel att göra och sist i rapporten sammanställs våra erfarenheter.</p>
