Was at this time that he learned to play guitar and his name became known among the musical scene of "choro". During this period, the early twentieth century, Villa-Lobos began to develop his compositional craftsmanship, and paid tribute to the new musical genre known as choro, with a work entitled Suite Popular Brasileira. This paper presents a historical analysis, epistemological analysis, melodic and the shapes of five pieces that make up the Suite Popular Brasileira, in order to bring to light the importance of this work to the history of the guitar and to the catalog of the works of Villa-Lobos. / Heitor Villa-Lobos conviveu em sua juventude com os chorões da cidade do Rio de Janeiro, foi nesse período que aprendeu a tocar violão e seu nome passou a ser conhecido nas rodas de choro. Na época, início do século XX, Villa-Lobos começou a desenvolver sua artesania composicional, e homenageou o novo gênero musical choro com uma obra intitulada Suíte Popular Brasileira. O presente trabalho apresentará a análise histórica, epistemológica, melódica e das formas da Suíte Popular Brasileira, a fim de trazer à luz a importância dessa obra diante da história do violão e do catálogo das obras de Villa-Lobos.
