Text in Afrikaans / Bestuursmodelle word vandag oor die algemeen as diagnostiese instrumente in organisasies benut. Die struktuur van hierdie bestuursmodelle word selde ondersoek om te bepaal of dit met die empiriese realiteit verband hou. Hierdie studie het ten doel om so 'n model, die bestuursbevoegdheidmodel wat deur Hall( 1988) ontwikkel was, te evalueer. Hall se model gee antwoorde op vrae oor die algemene bestuursklimaat van die organisasie. Die installing waar die navorsing gedoen was, is 'n Suid-Afrikaanse militere installing. Die Ramona-program is gebruik om te bepaal of daar wei passing is tussen die empiriese realiteit en bestuursprestasie in die betrokke organisasie waar die studie uitgevoer is. Daar is gevind dat daar gebrekkige passing tussen die empiriese realiteit en bestuursprestasie bestaan. Die waarde van die studie le daarin dat die betrokke organisasie in staat gestel word om alternatiewe modelle te oorweeg wat bes moontlik meer effektief sou kon wees. / Management models are used today as diagnostic instruments in organisations. The structure of these management models is seldom investigated for its validity and reliability. The aim of this study is to evaluate the Competence Process model developed by Jay Hall(1988). This model provides answers on the general management climate of the organisation. The research was performed at a South African military institution. The Ramona-programme was utilised in order to determine the match between the empirical reality and management performance in the particular organisation where this study was performed. The finding was that there is insufficient match between the empirical reality and management performance. The value of this study is that the specific organisation can now consider alternative models of management performance that are more effective. / Psychology / M.A. (Industrial Psychology)

K problematice efektivního a spolehlivého navrhování nosné konstrukce jeřábových drah / To problems of effective and reliable design of crane girders

Recently the most often used crane runway beams designed from rolled HEA sections as multispan beams is the topic of this doctoral thesis. It deals with the study of real stress in the cross section focused on local stress analysis in the web of cross section due to eccentricities of wheal load and on the problems of stress analysis above the middle support of multi-span beams. First, the outline of crane supporting structures, currently used methods of implementation and available stress analysis methods are summarized. Than two parametrical studies of crane runway beam design depending on statical determination of the beam, crane span, crane wheelbase and chosen quality of structural steel are presented. Following part of thesis contains the stress analysis of crane runway two-span beam in its continuous part above the middle support on implemented crane supporting structure. Experiment of crane runway two-span beams actions above the middle support are described in the last part of the thesis. Closing part of thesis summarizes results.

Formoptimierte filigrane Stäbe aus UHPC und korrosionsfreier CFK-Bewehrung für variable räumliche Stabtragwerke

Die Vision bei diesem Projekt bestand darin, zukünftig anstelle massiver Betontragsysteme mit meist ungleichmäßiger Materialausnutzung am Kraftfluss orientierte, filigrane, stabartige Tragwerke zu entwerfen, die sich neben der Gewichtsreduktion und einer höheren Transparenz auch durch eine bessere Ressourcennutzung auszeichnen. Dabei wurde eine modulare Bauweise angestrebt, bei der die Einzelkomponenten Druckstab und vorgespannter Zugstab sowie Teile des Verbindungsknotenelements vorgefertigt und am Einsatzort zusammengefügt werden. Sowohl im Hinblick auf die Tragfähigkeits- und Verbundeigenschaften als auch auf die Dauerhaftigkeit sollten die Stäbe aus faserverstärktem Ultrahochleistungsbeton (UHPFRC) hergestellt sowie ausschließlich mit nichtmetallischen Elementen aus faserverstärkten Kunststoffen (FVK) bewehrt bzw. vorgespannt werden. Im geförderten Zeitraum lag das Hauptaugenmerk auf der Entwicklung filigraner, formoptimierter Druck- und vorgespannter Zugstäbe. Zum Knotenelement wurden theoretische Überlegungen sowie erste Tastversuche angestellt. [Aus: Projektidee und Zielsetzung] / The vision of this project was to replace massive concrete structures with mostly inhomogeneous material utilization in the future by designing filigree concrete truss supporting structures in accordance with the principle form follows force instead. Thus, besides weight reduction and a higher transparency also a higher resource efficiency can be achieved. A modular construction method, in which the components compression strut, prestressed tie and connection joint elements are prefabricated and joined together at the construction site, was aspired. With regard to load-bearing capacity and bonding behaviour as well as durability, the struts and ties are made of Ultra-High Performance Fibre-Reinforced Concrete (UHPFRC) and are reinforced or prestressed exclusively with non-metallic elements made of f bre-reinforced polymers (FRP). Within the funding period, the focus was on the development of f ligree, shape-optimized struts and prestressed ties.
