Sverige är, enligt en undersökning våren 2012, det land som urbaniseras snabbast i Europa. Samtidigt som vi bevittnar hur landsbygden successivt avlövas ställs frågor kring den framtida relationen mellan de tätbefolkade och de nästintill folktomma delarna av landet. Vilka yttre förutsättningar vilar den urbana expansionen på - och vilken roll tilldelas det icke urbana - det vi ofta benämner som landsbygden? Projektet kan beskrivas som en undersökning av den framtida landsbygden utifrån fyra framtidsscenarios - Storbolagens Era, Livet på landet, Byalagens återkomst och Det exotiska reservatet. / According to a survey made in spring 2012,  Sweden is the fastest urbanizing country in Europe. While we are witnessing how the countryside gradually defoliates, questions about the future relationship between the densely populated and almost deserted parts of the country, are being raised. What external conditions are the urban expansion depending on - and what role is assigned to the non-urban? The project can be described as a study of the future rural areas of Sweden, based on 4 future scenarios - The era of the large-scale industries, Country life, Return of the village communities and The exotic nature reserve.
