Title: Effect shooting position of accurate sports shooting of air rifle lying position. Objectives: The aim of this empirical - theoretical work is to find out what is the effect of shooting position lying down on shooting from an air rifle. Methods: In this work was used a method of analysis, testing, observation, and method comparison. The method of analysis was applied in the analysis of sport shooting and the shooting position. The method compared in section comparison between the own the shooter's position and deliberately adjusted position. Tables, charts and statistical calculations were performed using functions in Microsoft Excel. Results: The result of the work is that the change in the supine position does not have a significant effect on the accuracy and on the result of the shooting. After the change of position occurred for all shooters to the deterioration of the shooting the result of which are statistically insignificant. Predicting rifle shooting accuracy from context and sensor data : A study of how to perform data mining and knowledge discovery in the target shooting domain / Prediktering av skytteträffsäkerhet baserat på kontext och sensordata.Pettersson, Max, Jansson, Viktor January 2019 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to develop an interpretable model that gives predictions for what factors impacted a shooter’s results. Experiment is our chosen research method. Our three independent variables are weapon movement, trigger pull force and heart rate. Our dependent variable is shooting accuracy. A random forest regression model is trained with the experiment data to produce predictions of shooting accuracy and to show correlation between independent and dependent variables. Our method shows that an increase in weapon movement, trigger pull force and heart rate decrease the predicted accuracy score. Weapon movement impacted shooting results the most with 53.61%, while trigger pull force and heart rateimpacted shooting results 22.20% and 24.18% respectively. We have also shown that LIME can be a viable method to give explanations on how the measured factors impacted shooting results. The results from this thesis lay the groundwork for better training tools for target shooting using explainable prediction models with sensors.

Identifying patterns in physiological parameters of expert and novice marksmen in simulation environment related to performance outcomesKarlsson, Johanna January 2017 (has links)
The goal of this thesis is to investigate if it is possible to use measurements of physiological parameters to accelerate learning of target shooting for novice marksmen in Saab’s Ground combat indoor trainer (GC-IDT). This was done through a literature study that identified brain activity, eye movements, heart activity, muscle activity and breathing as related to shooting technique. The sensors types Electroencephalography (EEG), Electroocculography (EOG), Electrocardiogram (ECG), Electromyography (EMG) and impedance pneumography (IP) were found to be suitable for measuring the respective parameters in the GC-IDT. The literature study also showed that previous studies had found differences in the physiological parameters in the seconds leading up to the shot when comparing experts and novices. The studies further showed that it was possible to accelerate learning by giving feedback to the novices about their physiological parameters allowing them to mimic the behavior of the experts. An experiment was performed in the GC-IDT by measuring EOG, ECG, EMG and IP on expert and novice marksmen to investigate if similar results as seen in previous studies were to be found. The experiment showed correlation between eye movements and shooting score, which was in line with what previous studies had shown. The respiration measurement did not show any correlation to the shooting scores in this experiment, it was however possible to see a slight difference between expert and novices. The other measurements did not show any correlation to the shooting score in this experiment. In the future, further experiments needs to be made as not all parameters could be explored in depth in this experiment. Possible improvements to such experiments are i.e. increasing the number of participants and/or the number of shots as well as marking shots automatically in the data and increasing the time between shots.

The main purpose of this project is to design and implement a system for controlling targets on a shooting range. This consists of the main control unit and some motor-turning targets. Both control unit and targets are battery powered and use wireless data transfer. This work describes the selection of the proper platform for wireless communication and design of the hardware and software part of the system in relation to low price and high reliability of the equipment. The conclusion of this work should be the system for practical use.
