A internet está sendo cada vez mais utilizada na busca por informações sobre saúde, contudo, apesar de tornar o conhecimento mais acessível ao indivíduo não há um controle da qualidade dos websites disponíveis. Assim, o objetivo foi verificar os aspectos de qualidade técnica e o conteúdo dos websites sobre triagem auditiva neonatal na Língua Portuguesa. Um grupo de fonoaudiólogos selecionou os descritores para a pesquisa dos websites por meio da Técnica Delphi, os quais foram inseridos no Google Trends a fim de se obter os termos possíveis de serem utilizados pelos pais na busca de informações na internet sobre o assunto. O conteúdo do websites foi analisado por meio de uma lista de tópicos sobre triagem auditiva neonatal e a inteligibilidade dos textos por meio da fórmula Flesch Reading Ease Score. Para a avaliação dos aspectos de qualidade técnica foi utilizado o questionário adaptado Health-Related Web Site Evaluation Form Emory e o PageRank para análise da relevância do websites no Google. Os tópicos mais abordados nos 19 websites selecionados de acordo com os critérios de inclusão foram sobre os objetivos e benefícios da triagem auditiva neonatal, assim como o processo de diagnóstico audiológico. Os menos discutidos foram sobre o resultado falso-negativo, desenvolvimento da audição e da linguagem, resultado falso-positivo, acompanhamento audiológico, interpretação dos resultados Passa / Não passa, reteste e protocolo. Prevaleceu um nível de leitura dos textos considerado difícil, sendo os aspectos de qualidade técnica considerados de melhor qualidade os relacionados ao conteúdo, público, navegação e estrutura. Os resultados também demonstraram não existir uma cultura de inserir links nos websites nacionais, o que os fizeram ser considerados de pouca relevância no Google. Dessa maneira, os websites diferiram quanto aos aspectos abordados sobre a triagem auditiva neonatal, assim como,há necessidade de revisar o nível de leitura dos conteúdos e os aspectos de qualidade técnica referentes à precisão e atualização das informações, autoria e links. / More and more, the internet is being used in the search for information on health, however, although it makes knowledge more accessible to individuals, there is no control over the quality of the websites available, thus, this study aimed at investigating technical quality aspects as well as the content of websites on newborn hearing screening, in Portuguese. The website content was analyzed through a list of topics on newborn hearing screening and the intelligibility of the texts through the Flesch Reading Ease Score formula. The adapted Health-Related Web Site Evaluation Form Emory questionnaire was used to assess technical quality aspects and PageRank to analyze the relevance of the website on Google. In the 19 websites selected according to the inclusion criteria, the most discussed topics were on the objectives and benefits of newborn hearing screening, as well as the audiological diagnosis process. The less discussed ones were on false-negative result, hearing and language development, false-positive result, audiological follow-up, interpretation of results - \"Pass\" / \"Refer\", retest and protocol. A text reading level, regarded as difficult, prevailed, being considered of best quality the aspects related to content, navigation and structure. The results also showed that there is not a culture of inserting links in the national websites, so they have little relevance on Google. Thus, the websites differed as to the aspects addressed on newborn hearing screening and further review on the reading level of contents as well as quality aspects concerning the accuracy and updating of information, authorship and links, is necessary.

With the advent of the telephonic and technological healthcare revolution, pharmaceutical corporations seek to improve patient compliance and quality of life by contracting with services providers. As an employee of one such provider, working for more than three years on a medication for the neurologically degenerative disease, multiple sclerosis, this investigation utilizes a mixed methodological approach. In order to improve and diversify the clinical services provided to patients, I was contracted as a consultant. I interviewed phone and PRN nurses, developed and released a PRN survey, and interviewed patients living in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area. The combined experiences and expertise of the three groups who participated would serve to inform and develop new programs and services for patients with differing disease states. The research resulted in a re-imagining of the social networking theory of health, as well as the works of Pierre Bourdieu and Michel Foucault, to serve the evolving tele-health and technologically based healthcare workplace.
